Two of Lamborghini’s most outrageous V12 supercars were left mangled after a violent crash in Texas, with one bursting into flames and the other suffering extensive damage in what appears to have been a high-speed incident near Houston. According to reports, the crash involved a Lamborghini Aventador S and the newer Lamborghini Revuelto on roads near Cypress, Texas.

Photos circulating online show the Aventador almost completely engulfed in flames while the Revuelto sits nearby with heavy front-end and side damage. Emergency crews reportedly arrived quickly, but by then the fire had already consumed much of the older Lamborghini. Details about injuries have not yet been confirmed publicly.

The dramatic wreck has once again highlighted just how quickly high-powered exotic cars can turn into piles of carbon fiber and twisted aluminum when things go wrong.

Two Generations of Lamborghini V12 Madness

The crash is especially striking because it involved Lamborghini’s outgoing and incoming flagship supercars together. The Aventador represented the final era of Lamborghini’s purely naturally aspirated V12 monsters, while the Revuelto introduced electrification into the brand’s halo car formula.

The Revuelto replaced the Aventador in 2023 and became Lamborghini’s first plug-in hybrid production supercar. It combines a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 with three electric motors to produce over 1,000 horsepower.

Despite its hybrid setup, the Revuelto still carries the aggressive styling and theatrical personality expected from Sant’Agata’s flagship models. Massive Y-shaped lighting signatures, a dramatic aerodynamic package, and the signature scissor doors ensure it looks every bit as wild as the Aventador it replaced.

The Aventador S, meanwhile, remains one of Lamborghini’s most recognizable modern supercars. Powered by a screaming V12 and lacking any hybrid assistance, it became famous for its brutal soundtrack and intimidating driving character. Even years after production ended, prices for clean examples remain extremely strong.

Social Media Turned the Crash Viral

It did not take long for photos and videos from the crash scene to spread across Instagram, TikTok, and enthusiast forums. The sight of two Lamborghini halo cars destroyed together instantly caught the attention of car fans around the world.

Many commenters focused on the sheer value involved, with estimates suggesting the two supercars together were worth well over $1 million before the collision.

Others pointed to the dangers of driving ultra-high-performance cars on public roads, especially vehicles capable of reaching extreme speeds in only a few seconds.

The Revuelto in particular remains a rare sight on American roads because customer deliveries only recently began ramping up. Seeing one already badly damaged alongside a burning Aventador added to the shock factor surrounding the incident.

For enthusiasts, the crash also felt symbolic in a way — the Aventador representing Lamborghini’s raw, old-school V12 era while the Revuelto signals the company’s electrified future.

Fire, Carbon Fiber, and Expensive Repairs

Supercar crashes often look worse than conventional accidents because of the materials used in their construction. Both the Aventador and Revuelto rely heavily on carbon fiber structures and lightweight composite bodywork, which can be incredibly expensive to repair after major impacts.

In the case of the Aventador, the fire may have ensured the car is beyond saving entirely. Once flames spread through a modern exotic car, the combination of magnesium, carbon fiber, wiring systems, and fuel components can rapidly destroy the vehicle.

The Revuelto may not have escaped much easier either. Images from the scene appear to show significant front-end destruction along with damage to the side of the car. Even relatively minor crashes involving modern Lamborghinis can lead to repair bills reaching six figures because of specialized parts and limited availability.

Ironically, this is not the first time a Revuelto has made headlines for ending up badly damaged. Earlier this year, another wrecked Revuelto surfaced online with severe front-end damage and a salvage title after a separate crash.

Authorities have not yet released full details about the cause of the crash, though no injuries were reported. Investigators are still working to determine exactly what happened in the moments before the collision.
