Reliability is one of the key ingredients of any car. There is no point in buying a car if it won’t go the distance, and many manufacturers have got this nailed right now. Honda, Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet- you name it; they have some of the most reliable cars on the market that money can buy.
The question is, though, what is the most reliable car on the market at the moment? That isn’t an easy question to answer, but one automotive content creator on YouTube felt like he had the answer. RudyCars posted a video on Facebook detailing what he felt were the three most reliable cars on the market.
The creator and mechanic had asked followers and viewers in a video to give their thoughts on what the most reliable cars available today are. Helpfully for us, he also gave his top three cars that he believes will last the longest.
What he revealed perhaps wasn’t what everyone was expecting. He also claimed that any of the cars he named could easily reach 650,000 miles with a proper maintenance program that involved little more than an oil change.
The Cars the Influencer Said Were the Most Reliable
“Three of the most reliable cars of all time with the potential to reach 650,000 miles with just basic oil changes,” RudyCars said at the start of his video. His first choice of car was the Mazda 3. He claimed it will never leave you stranded, is fuel-efficient, and has a very reliable four-cylinder engine under the hood. “That car will very rarely let you down. It will never leave you stranded. It’s a fuel-efficient, reliable four-cylinder engine, cheap to own. I mean, the list goes on. Mazda 3, real good,” he said.
In second place, he said, was the Nissan Xterra. RudyCars also claimed this was the most underrated of the three cars he had chosen. The Xterra was a truck-based compact SUV built by Nissan from 1999 to 2015 across two generations. RudyCars said that the Xterra has one of the best V6 engines ever made, and that not only is the SUV reliable, but it is also perfect for off-roading.
The car he chose as his ‘top dog,’ so to speak, might surprise people. Rudy chose the Lexus IS 250, a high-end sedan brought to us by Toyota’s luxury division. “One of my favorite sedans of all time. A little pricey, but it’s well worth it in the long term. The Lexus IS 250: real good,” said the content creator. The question is, did the comments section of the video agree?
This Is What Others Thought About Rudycar’s List

Comments from viewers seemed to push back against what RudyCars was saying. “Mazda 3 had some bad years,” said viewer Les Lee. “My daughter has a Nissan Xterra that has given her tons of grief,” said another viewer, Shirley Esquerra. While not everyone will have the same experience, it’s interesting to see what drivers of these cars have to say about them.
One car people said should have been on the list is the Toyota Corolla. The Corolla is by far and away one of the most reliable cars on the market right now, and it’s still hugely popular in the United States, so its absence seemed a bit strange. RudyCars left it out as it seemed too obvious a choice, but surely if its so reliable it deserves a mention regardless?
