A video of a 6-foot-tall humanoid fighting robot in action is doing the rounds on social media and could intimidate many viewers, especially given its tough stance and build.
The fighting robot was unveiled in San Francisco by REK, a company known for robot fighting events, and has now opened a storefront where people can watch, learn, and even buy fighting robots.
The footage highlights how smaller robots spar against each other in a fighting ring. But they all go silent when the 6-foot-tall robot enters the arena. The scene might remind viewers of the movie Iron Man at that point.
Although footage of the giant robot actually fighting was not shown, one of its moves and the agility with which it moved hinted at what it was capable of.
The Giant Robot “Won’t Be Making Your Dishes”

According to a report by ABC 7 Eyewitness News, REK’s new storefront will serve both as a training center and as a platform to showcase their humanoid robots. REK founder Cix, who spoke on video, said they have been making robots fight each other for over a year now:
“We’ve been fighting robots for a little bit more than a year. Last time we talked we were down at the gym on Van Ness. Those were four and a half feet tall, today we’re upgrading to 6 feet.”
While the 6-foot-tall humanoid robot’s name wasn’t revealed, Cix explained the kind of power it packs. He said:
“It’s not going to be making your dishes that’s for sure. It’s like a motorized bat. If you were hit by a bat going 100 miles per hour that’s what it would be like to get hit by one of these.”
Robot Fighting is Like Car Racing – And People Will be Able to Buy or Rent Them
Considering the level of competition and thrill that robot fights can offer, Cix likened it to motorsports. He said:
“Effectively, humanoid robot fights are the robot equivalent of car racing.”
Cix added that people can learn everything about humanoid robots through his company. He said:
“The REK shop here you’ll be able to repair humanoids, be able to buy humanoids, rent them, and then we will also do classes, so for the first time you’ll be able to see a humanoid robot and figure out how to walk it and how to program it.”
Cix also compared robot fighting to the Mortal Kombat video game. He said:
“It’s effectively like Mortal Kombat blew out of a video game console and went into a piece of metal.”
Residents Who Watched Robots Fight Gave Their Verdict
Kamran Karic said that the giant robot looked like Iron Man. He said:
“Honestly, the big one, like this one is insane, it’s Iron Man, you cannot tell me that’s not Iron Man right there.”
Karmen Leung thought it was cool to see how far technology had come. She said:
“I think people have been talking about robots for many decades and it’s very cool to finally see it come into fruition and see them getting into a fight right now.”
