An 18-year-old Florida woman was arrested after deputies say she visited the same Wawa on consecutive nights and allegedly stole nearly identical assortments of snacks, with her latest trip ending in a misdemeanor theft charge.
Vanessa Pire was arrested October 23, 2026, following a shoplifting complaint at a Wawa on South Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando. According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, a security officer recognized her from another incident at the store the previous night.
The security officer told investigators that Pire had returned for almost exactly the same merchandise, despite having already been identified during the earlier investigation.
The latest incident involved less than $20 worth of merchandise, but deputies had a witness, surveillance footage reportedly capturing the incident, and information from the previous night’s investigation to help identify their suspect.
Back for Seconds
According to the arrest affidavit, Pire entered the Wawa at 7030 South Orange Blossom Trail at approximately 11:35 p.m. on October 23, wearing a black shirt with colored designs, black pants, and carrying a black purse.
A security officer reported watching her walk through the aisles, select several items, and place them inside her purse. Approximately seven minutes later, she allegedly walked past the checkout stations without paying, exited the store, and left in a black Lexus sedan.
The merchandise included Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups ($5.79), Sour Wildberry Skittles ($3.29), a large bag of Mini Oreos ($2.69), and a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Vermonster ice cream ($8.19). The total came to $19.96.
The security officer reported that Wawa’s surveillance cameras captured the incident. When Deputy Connor Fason responded to the complaint, the security officer also told him that this was not his first encounter with Pire.
A Familiar Face
The security officer recognized Pire from a shoplifting investigation the previous night. During that investigation, deputies had conducted a six-photo lineup in which Pire was identified.
The earlier incident was documented under Orange County Sheriff’s Office case number 26-061885. According to the security officer, Pire had returned to the same store and taken almost exactly the same items, although the latest affidavit does not specify what was allegedly stolen the first night.
Pire’s booking photograph shows someone with a particularly distinctive appearance, from her elaborate eye makeup to her facial piercings. There’s nothing wrong with having a memorable look, but if you’re going to stand out from the crowd, repeatedly stealing from the same convenience store might not be the wisest strategy.
The affidavit does not establish whether Pire was separately charged in connection with the first incident.
The Arrest
After taking the security officer’s statement, deputies conducted a records search to locate an address associated with Pire. They subsequently found her and arrested her without further incident.
Pire was transported to the Orange County Booking and Receiving Center, where she was booked at 3:32 a.m. on October 24. Jail records show she was released at 8:32 a.m., approximately five hours later.
She faces a second-degree misdemeanor petit-theft charge under Florida Statute 812.014(3)(a). Her arrest paperwork lists a $500 bond, and the case is filed in Orange County Court as 2026-MM-409524-AO.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported that the Wawa security officer was asked to upload the store’s surveillance video as evidence. Deputy Fason also documented activating his body-worn camera during the investigation.
All parties are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
