A video on TikTok shows exactly why you shouldn’t park wherever you want without checking with your neighbors, especially if you live in the same area. Fortunately, this neighbor got a rude awakening when they found out that they’d been blocked in.
Alison Gerver (@propertiesbygerver) posted the original video on TikTok, and it shows a white Jeep trying to get around a black sedan. Unfortunately, for the Jeep, it’s a really tight squeeze, and it doesn’t look like they’re able to make it past.
According to Gerver, the neighbor even dared to ask why they were blocked in. In the clip, text appears that reads, “POV: a ‘neighbor’ parks in the driveway you rent monthly and asks why you blocked him in.”
Jeep Paid the Price

According to the TikTok clip, the parking spot that the Jeep was in belonged to a neighbor who pays to use it, though never discloses just how much they pay for it. However, if the space is occupied, then that neighbor isn’t exactly able to use it.
So, the neighbor, Gerver, decided to block the Jeep in and record the driver’s reaction from afar. You can literally see the driver attempt several point turns to get out, but still fail by the end.
What’s even funnier are the two instances where people try to walk past the Jeep on the sidewalk, forcing the driver to brake and let them pass. It truly looks like something that came out of a cartoon script.
As of the publication of this article, the original creator has posted no updates to their TikTok account since the video was posted.
Comments To Blocked Driveway
Unsurprisingly, plenty of commenters sided with Alison, arguing that someone shouldn’t feel entitled to park in a driveway simply because it appears unused. “Random people just parking in private driveways they have no connection to? That’s wild. Don’t try that in my driveway,” one viewer wrote.
Others found the situation particularly satisfying, especially since the Jeep driver apparently struggled to maneuver out of the space after Alison parked her own vehicle. “expertly parked btw! Just not enough space to get out!” one commenter joked.
However, some viewers apparently questioned whether Alison had any right to the driveway in the first place, prompting her to clarify that she had been renting the space for three years. She also explained that the nearby house had suffered a fire approximately a year earlier and that she had contacted a towing company and police before eventually going to bed, adding, “This was supposed to be a funny parking story, not a conspiracy theory.”
