Ducati’s newest superbike, the Ducati Panigale V4 R, is set to arrive in the United States in March 2026. The bike itself is a revolution in the superbike market, a machine that could meet and exceed all of one’s requirements for a true beast on two wheels.

This seventh-generation sportbike introduces a host of upgrades and developments, drawing on Ducati’s success in MotoGP and World Superbike to create a machine that combines speed, power, and sheer beauty.

The Panigale has long been a dominant name in the superbike world, but this latest evolution raises the bar yet again. And it could be yours, starting at an MSRP of $49,995.

US-Spec Engine Details

The 998 cc Desmosedici Stradale R engine was originally developed for World Superbike competition, but it is equally capable on the concrete streets. For its U.S. trim, it delivers 208 horsepower, and while peak horsepower remains similar to the previous model, the way it delivers that power has improved.

The engine produces an average gain of about 2.6 horsepower from 4,000 rpm all the way up to its 16,000 rpm redline. That means stronger, more consistent acceleration throughout the rev range, not just at the very top. At maximum rpm, it also regains its advantage in top-end performance over the previous generation.

Internally, the engine has been updated with lighter pistons and a revised crankshaft. The lighter pistons help the engine rev more freely, while the new crankshaft increases inertia, creating smoother and more progressive throttle response. The result is an engine that feels more controlled and predictable, especially when accelerating hard out of corners.

MotoGP Inspired Aero

This new work of art includes a special aerodynamic feature called corner sidepods. These are small wing-shaped pieces built into the sides of the bike. Ducati first developed this idea for racing in MotoGP back in 2021, and this is the first time it has appeared on a street-legal production motorcycle.

Borgo Panigale has redesigned the front bodywork with larger aerodynamic wings to increase downforce and enhance stability at high speeds. The riding position has also been refined, with the seat, footpegs, and fuel tank positioned 10mm further inward. Together, these adjustments offer improved rider support and greater control under braking, through corners, and during acceleration.

A Redesigned Gearbox and Chassis

The new Panigale V4 R features a racing-style transmission layout known as the Ducati Racing Gearbox (DRG). The absence of neutral between first and second gear also makes shifts between those gears quicker and smoother during hard acceleration.

The chassis is built around Ducati’s latest platform, engineered to improve grip, stability, and rider feedback at racing speeds. The updated front frame has been redesigned to reduce lateral stiffness by 40 percent, allowing the motorcycle to flex more naturally when entering corners. This controlled flexibility enhances front-end feel and gives the rider greater confidence at high lean angles.

The introduction of a hollow symmetrical swingarm is another key development derived from Ducati’s racing program. This design transfers engine power more efficiently to the rear tire, improving traction and delivering stronger, more controlled acceleration out of corners.
