A day doesn’t seem to go by without some truly outrageous dashcam footage. The r/dashcams subreddit on the social media site Reddit is full of the best and worst kinds of driving. One piece of footage shows a driver trying to brake check someone, but instead firing them into a tree.
Instant karma seemed to be the theme of this video. There are certainly plenty of videos like this on the subreddit. This particular one is only 12 seconds long, but it was enough to get over 22,000 upvotes and 1,400 comments at the time of writing.
In the short clip, a blue sports car, possibly a Japanese car, is seen roaring past the camera car, first from the rear camera and then from the front dashcam. What led up to this aggressive move isn’t clear, but the car swerves directly in front of the dashcam vehicle.
Rather than catching the car behind and causing it to crash, the sports car in front ends up locking up the rear wheels and spearing right off the road. What follows is quite a brutal accident, but it’s hard not to see this as instant karma.
The Sports Car Went Flying off the Road

After the car roars past us, we can see it slam its brakes, and the red lights come on. Just a second or so later, smoke is pouring out of the tires, and the car is pitched sideways, with it appearing that the rear wheels have locked up. The driver tries to recover, but the car slides right off the road and into the trees and grass.
After we pass the car, we end up looking out the rear camera again. Just a second later, we can see the car roll over after seemingly hitting both a tree and a ditch, ending up on its roof, with a few parts becoming detached. While the car hasn’t become a million pieces, it’s certainly taken quite the hit in this accident, with the cars behind slowing down to check.
The car with the dashcam appeared to drive off suddenly, unwilling to wait around. You can probably understand the frustration, given how they had nearly been involved in the crash themselves. In fact, there is every likelihood that the driver of the dashcam car was shaken up badly by the potential accident they narrowly avoided. Of course, the comments below the video were as entertaining as you will ever find on Reddit.
Not Many Had Sympathy for the Sports Car Driver

There are some amusing comments below the video.
“I shouldn’t have laughed, but I did,” said one Reddit user. “Absolute cinema,” said another one. “I’m wondering if the driver yanked the handbrake. “Heh, I’ll show him. I’ll stop without letting my brake lights warn him – that way even if he does have a cam, it’ll look like he just rear-ended me out of the blue!” suggested one other user.
Another simply said, “Wish this happened more often to [expletive] on the road.”
