A Chevrolet dealership in Canada made quite a gamble with a Cadillac CT4, after another dealer struggled to sell the car, causing it to sit on their lot for months. As it had sat for so long, the dealership decided it wasn’t worth hanging onto for so long, hence the decision to sell it, according to Lance Herman (@lance.at.ulmer.chev), a salesman at Ulmer Chevrolet in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan.
He claimed that they’d done something that no other car dealership would do by buying the car from another store because it couldn’t sell. It was a big gamble, but Herman stated that his store believed they could sell this Cadillac and find it a home.
Herman said in a TikTok video that he believed the color was what kept this Cadillac from selling. This is something the previous dealership had told them, and for whatever reason, the color of the car simply did not resonate with any buyers.
In the TikTok video, however, Herman puts on his salesman hat and really talks up the Cadillac CT4, with the color revealed right away, ensuring we hear all the good points about the car before even thinking about the color. That is one clever salesman strategy.
Why This Particular Cadillac CT4 Would Not Sell

The old store where this car used to be really struggled to sell it, and after seeing the car, it kind of makes sense as to why. The car is finished in a metallic green, which is slightly unusual compared to the more neutral colors we often see. That is where the problem lay with this Cadillac, with the car itself being in perfect running order.
Many modern car buyers tend to be more conservative in what they choose for the color of their car. That is very true when it comes to luxury vehicles, and when you drive past a dealership, you will be greeted by a flood of neutral colors. But as Herman expertly put it in the video, the color is not a reason to avoid even considering this Cadillac CT4.
Forget the color, but this is an excellent car. It is a luxury all-wheel drive car, powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. There are plenty of cool features such as the sunroof, Bose audio system, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Like many other Cadillacs, it also has leather seats, heated front seats, a steering wheel, and even wireless charging. There is a lot to love about this car, especially the four-year or 80,000km/50,000 miles warranty.
This Is What Viewers Had To Say About the Cadillac

The comments turned into something rather heated, although much of it seemed to descend into a Toyota versus General Motors feud. “GM produces garbage nowadays, face the facts,” said one. Another said, “We only drive Toyotas.” Herman thankfully cut through the noise, stating even Toyotas can have issues, as his team had to deal with a Tundra that needed an engine change.
But as you watch him detail the car, the way he spoke about it did a great job in deflecting from the color. When you hear all the good points about the CT4, how it’s comfortable, powerful, nice to drive, etc., suddenly the color doesn’t become a problem. This reinforced Herman’s view that there was nothing wrong with this car. Plus, we think the green actually suits the CT4 quite well. You should never let just the color determine whether a car is good enough or not. It is beneath the surface that what really counts.
