It isn’t very often you get to own a bespoke Ferrari. Unless you happen to be uber-rich and have a good relationship with the brand, many of us will only be able to look at that from afar. Plus, these cars very rarely come up for sale at auction. Incredibly, however, one has, in the form of a 2017 Ferrari F12tdf (tour de France) Atelier.
This incredible example of the Ferrari F12 has taken its inspiration from the 1957 Ferrari 500 TRC, one of the most iconic cars the brand has ever produced. Its value is certainly high. But the same is true of the F12tdf.
This particular example has appeared for sale via duPont Registry. And if you happen to have over $4 million sitting in your bank account, then you may just be able to afford it. It is one of the most expensive Ferraris currently for sale at an auction house.
The tdf was a track-focused version of the F12berlinetta, originally unveiled in 2015 and with just 799 examples produced. It paid homage to the Tour de France motorsport event, which the Ferrari 250 dominated between 1956 and 1964. This particular example, though, takes things to a whole new level.
Why This Ferrari f12tdf Is an Extra Special Supercar

This isn’t just any other Ferrari F12tdf, given the fact that it was inspired by the 1957 Ferrari 500 TRC. Only 19 examples of the 500 TRC were ever built in 1957, designed to allow privateer racers to comply with FIA Appendix C regulations. The car would go on to win its class at the 12 Hours of Sbering and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1957.
This is the car that this F12tdf pays homage to, finished in a design similar to one of those original cars. The livery is the real standout, a unique Nero DS and Bianco Avus design, based on the design used on 500 TRC chassis No. 0706 MDTR. Some other external details include the airbushed Scuderia shields, as well as the matte Italian tricolour accents across the carbon fiber fenders. Matt carbon fiber is used throughout the construction of the car.
The supercar also has a few custom logos, as well as Rosso Corsa accents on the steering wheel. Within the engine bay, the F12tdf even comes with the signatures of those who worked on the assembly team at the Ferrari factory during the car’s construction. Inside, there is a stunning Nero cabin, which beautifully complements the exterior, made up mostly of the classic Rosso Corsa color.
What Powers the Ferrari F12tdf?

A look under the hood will reveal one of the best Ferrari V12s ever made in the modern era. It is a 6.3-liter V12 engine, making 769hp and 520lb-ft of torque. The supercar is fast too, able to blitz 0-60mph in just 2.9 seconds, and it takes just 7.9 seconds to go from 0-124mph. With so much power, it is no surprise that the F12tdf can reach over 211mph for its top speed.
So, how much will you need to be able to buy this car? Well, according to the duPont Registry, this Ferrari is listed at $4.25 million for its asking price. That is a rather large amount of money for a single Ferrari. But when you factor in its limited edition status and the extra exclusivity it has thanks to the customization, it begins to make sense.
