Some quite unbelievable dashcam footage has recently been posted on Reddit, showing a motorcyclist going through New York and being hounded by the driver of an Acura. The video, which has 9,700 upvotes at the time of writing, shows the Acura driver taking several swings at the cyclist.
The footage was posted on the r/dashcams SubReddit, and it’s the type of footage that has to be seen to be believed. In the text overlay, the biker states they were going at the speed limit, and in the footage, it appears they are sticking to their lane.
They then look back and see this Acura speeding towards them, clearly trying to overtake the biker. Yet rather than slot in behind or overtake carefully, the Acura driver roars right alongside them, nearly knocking them off the motorcycle and forcing them to take evasive action.
When the biker comes up alongside the Acura to confront the woman driving it, she then appears to take another swing towards the rider with the helmet cam. It is then that the situation escalated even further, as she had seemingly hit the car in front of her, leading to another unhappy road user.

The video opens with the biker riding as normal before the black Acura comes roaring up alongside him. His video caption stated, “Passes me in my lane while I’m going the speed limit,” with the sedan very nearly hitting the biker and causing him to crash. It didn’t look like he’d done anything wrong and was staying in his lane.
That sparked a gesture and a few expletives from the biker as he realized he was about to be run off the road. He pushed against the car as it came past him, shouting in anger and utter shock at what had just happened. He decided not to let her get away with it, and rode up alongside her and forced her to roll down her window and tell him what she was doing.
“Yo, what’s your problem?” he said as the sedan driver rolled down her window. A scooter rider who came up alongside the biker seemed to sympathize with him. The driver of the Acura, however, didn’t seem keen on admitting fault and backing down. She decided the best thing to do was to double down on her driving and screamed at the biker to get out of the middle of the road. Yet things then took a turn for the worse for the Acura driver.
The Sedan Driver Ran Into the Back of Another Car
While she was arguing with our disgruntled rider, there was a crunch, and the Acura came to a stop. Because she was too busy arguing, she’d taken her eyes off the road and crashed into a Tesla in front of her that had stopped for traffic. Again, she tried to blame it on the motorcyclist, who simply replied, “That’s what you get [expletive].” If she thought that was the end of her trouble, then the driver of the Tesla had other ideas.
He had clearly felt the massive bump and stormed out of his car, very annoyed. “You hit me!” he yelled, before the video sadly came to an end. Commentators on the video were firmly on the side of the motorcyclist. “NYC is one of very few places in this country where revoking a license isn’t a poverty sentence. Take this woman’s license away,” said the top comment. That summed up the situation for many other users.
The fact that the Acura driver rear-ended a Tesla as well just makes it even more chaotic.
