A Reddit user has said that a woman claimed she missed a stop sign at an intersection, with her dashcam footage proving otherwise. But the excuse that the other driver gave her for the incident was a strange one.
Reddit user Big_Development1658 posted the video to the r/dashcams SubReddit, and it’s a video that had 11,000 upvotes and just under 2,000 comments at the time of writing. It was one of many entertaining videos that are posted to this SubReddit, as it showcases the best and worst of some drivers.
The dashcam footage shows us approaching an intersection with stop signs. The car in front of us comes to a complete stop before proceeding, as does the car that we are riding in. However, on the right, we see a Ford Bronco approaching the intersection, but this vehicle doesn’t appear to stop.
While we stop and carry on, this Ford keeps on going and seems almost oblivious to the fact that there is a car heading across to the other side of the intersection. It is easy to guess what happens next, but the excuse given by the other driver will certainly come as a surprise.
What the Dashcam Footage Showed
Tried to say I ran the stop sign, but don’t worry “she’s a doctor.”

In the video, the car approaches an intersection with a stop sign. Clearly, it indicates that you must come to a complete stop before proceeding, which the car in front does, as does the dashcam car. The driver we are on board with waits for another couple of cars to pass over the road before they begin to proceed themselves.
However, as we move off, a Ford on the right starts to emerge into view. While the dashcam vehicle stops for a few seconds before proceeding, the Bronco does not appear to have done so. Our vehicle is already heading into the intersection when the Ford starts to accelerate and decides to join the same bit of road. The dashcam vehicle carries on, but for some reason, so does the Bronco.
What ensues is slightly perplexing. The horn from the dashcam car blares before there is a loud crunch, and it’s clear the Ford has run into the side of the car. Considering that the car we are on board with would have been in full view, it is rather perplexing. The video cuts off not long after the crunch, with the impact doing a good job of knocking the dashcam car sideways and nearly into a car on the other side of the intersection.
What Was the Excuse Given by the Ford Driver?

The comments section gives us an idea of what happened and what excuse was given. The original poster, Big-Development1658, said, “She tried so hard to blame me. When I said I had a dashcam, she insisted she did too. I said, ‘Great, we will have two perspectives of you at fault then.'” The other driver’s excuse was that they were a student nurse, which they thought would exonerate them.
It leads to the question of how the Bronco could have hit the dashcam vehicle. While the Reddit post doesn’t confirm it, most people in the comments believed that the driver of the Ford had been distracted. It is highly likely they were on or looking at their phone when the collision took place. Clearly, this Reddit user feels pretty confident that they weren’t at fault, hence the posting of the footage, and it does appear to back them up conclusively.
