An Arizona delivery driver had tried to outrun police officers a second time in their career. This time, however, they hit speeds of over 130 miles per hour before finally fleeing on foot and barricading themselves in a home.
The entire incident happened on May 22, after the Arizona Department of Public Safety, with Metro Night Watch, recognized someone. This person had already fled from the cops twice before during speeding incidents.
In an interesting twist, when officials finally caught up to the vehicle, they noticed a ‘Junior Trooper’ sticker. Despite this, it was made clear that the decal didn’t lessen the seriousness of the situation.
Even knowing that the suspect had already evaded police before, there was still a more interesting revelation. The driver also had a mechanism that would conceal his license plate at the click of a button.
He Evaded Police Twice Before
According to officers, they realized that the driver of a nearby vehicle was someone they were looking for. The suspect had previously evaded officers on various occasions, who then became known for doing so in high-speed and dangerous chases.
It was also noticed that the vehicle had been outfitted with a concealment device that would hide the license plate at the click of a button. This would make identifying the car even harder.
When the officers tried to make contact again, things escalated, and they had to kick off another pursuit. This time, the chase hit speeds of up to 130 miles per hour.

The speed of the car made the roadways an incredibly dangerous place for other drivers. To mitigate any accidents, troopers tried to anticipate where the driver would head next.
An officer was sent to wait in the driver’s neighborhood for when he would eventually arrive. This proved to work because shortly after the driver arrived, the pursuit turned into an on-foot one.
Eventually, the driver ran into a residential home where he barricaded himself in for a brief time. He continued to goad officers by appearing willing to comply with instructions, only to turn back and run into the home.
Major Charges Were Filed
Once the suspect was officially in custody and positively identified, charges were filed. According to a Facebook post by AZDPS Highway Patrol, the driver faces criminal speed, reckless driving, and driving under the influence.
The driver also has charges connected to a previous felony fight and another related to the current chase. In the same statement, Highway Patrol wrote, “Criminal speed + repeat felony flight + reckless driving + DUI = JAIL.”
Authorities also took the time to remind the publicivers that fleeing from law enforcement is only going to increase the consequences, urging everyone to slow down and drive responsibly. As with all criminal cases, the suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
