The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is one of the best cars money can buy right now in America, and Cadillac may have discontinued the CT4-V, but the ‘5 will live on in a future generation. It is the last manual, rear-wheel drive V8 sedan made in America, and yet it can still offer a smooth, comfortable, and driving experience.

You have all the luxury you’d expect from any Cadillac. Comfortable seats, premium features, great infotainment, etc. It is all there, creating a truly great sedan. What is also there is the value, as the CT5-V seems to fly in the face of other cars by holding its value and bucking the depreciation trend.

In fact, the CT5-V Blackwing is now worth more than it was when Cadilalc first launched the car. That highlights just how much the car is loved, and how people clamor to get their hands on one. The fact that it truly is the last of its kind perhaps also plays a major part in its holding its value.

A quick look at the second-hand market reveals just how well the car is holding that value. While you may have paid just under $85,000 for one new at launch, some used examples can sell for a staggering $100,000 or more. That is the appeal of this amazing V8.

How Much Is the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing in 2026?

At the time of writing, the CT5-V Blackwing for 2026 has a listed price of $98,900. So still less than $100,000, and for a car with a 6.2-liter V8 but the usual Cadillac luxury, you really do get what you pay for. But go and look at Classic.com and you will see just how desirable this car is. In fact, all pricing metrics make for fascinating reading.

The lowest sale the auctioneers have recorded is $77,500. The average sale stands at $91,457, which is just below what a current Blackwing retails for. But, the highest sale is a remarkable $111,000, with the most recent second-hand example selling for $93,500. That is just $6,400 less than a brand-new example costs.

Bring a Trailer sold the $111,000 example. This was a 2023 CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition, with just 29 miles on the odometer. Its low mileage and extra trimmings will certainly have driven the price up, but that is still higher than what you’d pay for a factory-fresh CT5-V Blackwing. The big question is, why are these cars worth so much?

Why the CT5-V Blackwing Is Worth So Much Money

As a rear-wheel drive, supercharged V8 sedan, the CT5-V Blackwing is part of a dying breed. It is a fun, powerful car, complete with a manual transmission, and these are incredibly sought after right now because they are becoming harder to find. It is pushing cars like the Blackwing into collector’s cars territory, something that nobody probably expected when the car was launched.

With cars like this dying out, enthusiasts want a piece of the action. Regardless of whether it is a brand new car or a second-hand one, they want in on it, so prices will rise, dictated by the demand. The Blackwing is also an amazing mixture of old and new, with its six-speed Tremec manual transmission, but all the modern tech gizmos for the occupants, as well as features like its limited-slip axle driven by a powerful computer brain.

When Cadillac launched the car in 2022, the retail price was $84,990. So in 2026, used prices are regularly sitting far higher than the original asking price. Plus, they are getting dangerously close to the $125,580 for the fully-configured version. The CT5-V isn’t exactly a high-volume production vehicle either, so it’s understandable why demand may outweigh the supply.

Is the CT5-V Blackwing Getting a New Generation?

Recently, Cadillac announced it was going to axe the CT4-V Blackwing from its lineup at the end of 2026. Naturally, that sparked fears that the CT5-V version would follow suit, but thankfully, that doesn’t look like it will happen. Both the standard CT5 and the CT5-V Blackwing will get a next-generation model. So, if you currently can’t get your hands on a new or second-hand one, fear not. The CT5-V Blackwing isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
