The incident happened on the Sunshine Coast, in a stretch of Australia better known for beaches than car chases. But on this particular afternoon, a white Mercedes-Benz turned a quiet strip near a theme park into something closer to a stunt scene, minus the choreography.

According to police, they received multiple reports around 1.20pm of a white Mercedes-Benz being driven dangerously along Frizzo Road in Palmview.
It gets worse from there, according to Sunshine Coast News. The vehicle reportedly entered a theme park on Downunder Drive, where it struck several parked vehicles.

Police located the Mercedes shortly after and attempted to intercept it, but the driver failed to stop. This lines up with footage showing an officer approaching the vehicle at what looked like the end of the chase, only for the driver to take off again before anything could be sorted out calmly. The car eventually came to a halt a short distance away, and the woman was taken into custody without further incident.

Investigators allege the Mercedes-Benz had been stolen from a South Brisbane address back on June 4, meaning this car had been missing for close to a month before it turned up mangling parking lot fixtures on the Sunshine Coast.

A 25-year-old Chermside woman has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, an evasion offence, and driving a motor vehicle while a relevant drug was present in her blood. That is a full slate of charges, and it will now work its way through the courts like any other case.
