There are plenty of emergencies where every second matters. A vehicle fire can spread quickly, create dangerous conditions for nearby drivers, and leave little room for error if first responders aren’t working together.
Fortunately, that’s exactly what happened during a recent incident in South Florida. Deputies with the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Fire Rescue personnel responded to a vehicle fire in Deerfield Beach, where each agency took on a specific role to bring the situation under control.
While firefighters focused on extinguishing the flames, deputies worked to keep everyone else out of harm’s way by securing the area and redirecting traffic around the scene.
The coordinated effort prevented additional danger and highlighted just how much goes on behind the scenes during what might seem like a routine emergency response.
The Car on Fire Wasn’t in Great Shape Afterwards
Please give the video below a moment to load up completely.
In the video, you can see a police officer recording from his body camera. He can be seen walking towards a group of cars parking at a strip mall, one spouting smoke from underneath its hood.
At one point, you can see flames burning the paint off the red vehicle. Fortunately, fire rescue must already have been on their way to the scene, as they appeared to be setting up to put out the fire.
Unfortunately, it looks like the cars that were parked next to the flaming vehicle couldn’t be moved. However, they don’t look to have taken any damage.
The car on fire wasn’t so lucky, with fire rescue still pouring water into the engine to ensure the flames were completely out.
Commenters Were Focused on a Completely Different Issue
Despite the incident, commenters were more focused on another incident that occurred in Broward County. Various comments were something along the lines of, “Don’t you think you guys should arrest the POS pedophile who solicited a minor in front of their parents?!?! The video is all over YouTube, but you guys say ‘no crime committed,’ but I guarantee if someone said that to an undercover, you’d immediately arrest them. Find this guy and lock him up!!!”
Others were grateful for the officers and teams who were on the scene to put out the fire, with someone else writing, “God bless BSO.” Similarly, another person wrote, “Thank you.”
Fortunately, no one appears to have been injured as a result of the flames. Additional information about who owned the car or why the fire occurred in the first place was not released.
