If you see a Lamborghini Revuelto pitched against a BMW M140i and an Audi S3, you might fully expect the Lamborghini to come out on top. As one of the fastest supercars currently on sale, it makes little sense for it to lose against two rivals also designed for daily driving in mind.
Mat Watson and CarWow decided to put this to the test after they got a Revuelto and decided to compare it to the BMW and the Audi. However, there was a catch. While the Revuelto was in fully stock form, the two German cars had gone through some serious upgrades to increase the power.
That meant that this Lamborghini had a tougher challenge than expected. In stock form, the BMW has around 335hp, while the Audi was in a similar ballpark. But the changes that have been made to the two cars have seen those power figures shoot straight up, and they now easily rival the Lamborghini they raced against.
So it was clear from the start that the Lamborghini wasn't going to have it all its own way. But those watching might not have expected the two German rivals to firmly put the Italian supercar in the shade.
How the German Cars Compared Against the Lamborghini
On paper, the Lamborghini should have walked this race. But this race didn't take place on paper; it took place in the wheel world. With its V12 engine and electric motor, the Revuelto produces 1,001hp and 783lb-ft of torque. Easily enough to dominate a stock BMW and Audi. However, as we have alluded to, these cars are not stock.
The BMW M140i has been tuned to produce a staggering 1,200hp on low boost from its 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine. But with bigger boost, it can pump out a ridiculous 1,600hp. Much more than what the stock Revuelto can produce. The Audi S3, meanwhile, has nearly as much power as the Lamborghini, with its 3.2-liter six-cylinder engine making 937hp and 64lb-ft of torque. That is still less than the Lamborghini, but it has all-wheel drive and is lighter.
It will probably come as no surprise that the BMW was able to give the Lamborghini a huge run for its money in the drag races. It actually beat the supercar after the Revuelto initially ran the M140i close, showcasing just how much the upgrades have brought to the table. The Audi bogged down in the races and couldn't quite live with the BMW or Lamborghini.
Even a Rolling Start Couldn't Save the Revuelto

As well as standing-start races, the cars took part in a rolling start from 50mph. This saw the Revuelto get a better launch than its two rivals. But once the power of the BMW had kicked in, there was nothing the Lamborghini could do, and it was overhauled at the 1/2 mile mark after being beaten to the 1/4 mile. The Audi meanwhile reeled it in, but it wasn't able to overtake.
Of course, in some ways, this is an unfair comparison. The Lamborghini produces over 1,000hp from stock, and the BMW has had to go through some pretty major changes to be anywhere near the Italian supercar. If they had all raced as stock, the Lamborghini would have easily left its rivals behind. We do, though, get to see just how potent upgrades to cars can really be.
