A video was recently posted to TikTok that shows why some people truly do need to retake their road tests every few years. In fact, it’s a miracle that the video didn’t capture a collision, considering how dangerous the stunt was.
The video takes place on July 20 at about 10:41 am, and shows a driver in front of the vehicle recording making a turn onto a road with oncoming traffic. Fortunately, the people recording did what they could to try and let the other driver know what was happening, but the video ends before we can really find out.
While the text on the video itself reads, “pls get yalls grandparents off the road,” it isn’t actually clear if the person driving is much older. Though, there is a point where you can hear the driver of the car recording call out to him, saying, “Old man, you can’t go that way!”
While the video is undoubtedly hilarious, it also serves as a reminder that you truly cannot trust everyone out on the road.

The video appears to take place on I-90 somewhere in Massachusetts, according to the caption. You can see that there is a van in front of the driver, going in the same direction as them on the same road.
However, there comes a point where the driver of the van makes a left onto a street, likely not realizing that he was going against traffic. In fact, you can briefly see the back of a traffic light where the driver turned in, further proving that he was on the wrong side of the road.
The woman who was driving noticed this immediately and began panicking, accelerating a bit further to be able to yell out to the man driving. In its entirety, the video is only 14 seconds long, but has generated over 17,000 likes.
Commenters Debate Whether the Driver or the Road Is to Blame
The overwhelming reaction centered on one thing: just how many people immediately recognized the location. Dozens of commenters realized the incident happened in Auburn, Massachusetts, with replies like “I know Auburn when I see it,” “FYP getting way too local,” and “Oh my god this is like by my home.”
Many viewers also debated whether the driver was entirely at fault or whether the intersection itself deserved some blame. Several people argued there weren’t enough “Do Not Enter” or “Wrong Way” signs visible, saying they could understand how someone unfamiliar with the area might make the mistake.
One commenter wrote, “I’ve watched the video several times and I do not see any ‘Do Not Enter’ or ‘Wrong Way’ signs,” while another claimed they’ve seen people make the same wrong turn before and suggested adding more signage.
