Weird incidents happen all over the country.
Florida is a perfectly normal state in that regard. There are arguments, parking lot disputes, and the kind of late-night situations that escalate faster than they should.
But for whatever reason, when something like this happens in Florida, it tends to take on a different tone online. The details feel a little more chaotic, the moments a little more surreal, and the story travels a little further.
This is one of those cases.
According to WINK News, a woman was arrested after deputies say she sprayed a crowd with mace and then drove into vehicles, pinning another woman between two cars during a disturbance at a RaceTrac in Lee County, Florida.
The Moment the Argument Turned Violent

Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened around 2 a.m. Monday at a RaceTrac on South Pointe Boulevard.
According to WINK News, investigators say a verbal altercation broke out between a group of women in the parking lot. During that confrontation, one person grabbed a canister of mace and began spraying the crowd before getting into a vehicle.
The suspect was later identified as Navayahia Diaz.
The victim told deputies that during the confrontation, Diaz yelled, “Your mom can get mace too,” a line that might sound almost absurd on its own, but came just moments before the situation escalated, according to the sheriff’s office report referenced in earlier coverage.
Deputies Say the Vehicle Was Used Intentionally
According to WINK News, deputies say Diaz accelerated toward another vehicle, then reversed and accelerated again toward a second vehicle. Investigators say a woman was standing outside near one of those vehicles when she was struck and pinned between the cars.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said Diaz then fled the scene before later being located, detained, and booked into the Lee County Jail.
The victim later went to the hospital with leg pain, according to deputies.
Sheriff Carmine Marceno said the video shows “zero care” for others and described the situation as dangerous, adding that it “could have been a fatal encounter,” according to WINK News.
When a Car Becomes a Weapon
Diaz is facing a charge of aggravated battery, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Under Florida law, a vehicle can be considered a deadly weapon when it is used intentionally to harm someone. Based on the sequence described by investigators and shown in the video, deputies are alleging that is exactly what happened here.
The sheriff’s office also noted that Diaz had a prior grand theft charge in 2025, a detail Sheriff Carmine Marceno described as “very, very disturbing” in comments reported by WINK News.
At its core, this case is a reminder of how quickly a parking lot argument can escalate and how little control anyone really has once things cross that line.
We see it over and over again. A confrontation that starts with words turns physical, and the consequences change completely.
The safest move is often the simplest one: don’t engage. Create distance if you can, and let authorities handle it. Because situations like this don’t usually come with a warning about how far they’re about to go.
