Authorities say a woman struck two vehicles that were stopped on the left shoulder, leading to the death of 45-year-old Jodi Tackett. Another person suffered serious injuries while reportedly dealing with a vehicle issue at the roadside.
The crash occurred in the early hours of April 13, 2026, near the Georgesville Road exit on I-270 southbound. Police say the driver left the scene on foot before being located and detained at a nearby shopping center.
The Interstate 270 Crash Scene
The incident unfolded along a busy stretch of Interstate 270 in the Columbus metro area, where multiple vehicles had stopped on the left shoulder. According to the local news package included in the @AmiriKing post, Jodi Tackett was sitting in the passenger seat of a car stopped behind a minivan, where two adults were changing a tire.
Court documents cited by ABC6 say both vehicles had their hazard lights on and were clearly out of the moving lanes. Police say Wright lost control of her car, crashed into the vehicle Tackett was sitting in, and pushed it into the minivan.
Tackett died at the scene. One of the people working on the minivan was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The video shows police activity, traffic disruption, and investigators working through the aftermath of the scene.
Allegations of Impairment and Flight
Police reports cited in the broadcast included in the viral video state the driver had a blood alcohol level of 0.136 percent. Authorities also allege she was driving while her license was suspended at the time of the crash.

The ABC6 report also referenced a July 2020 crash involving Wright. Police said Wright hit and killed a pedestrian, though the station reported that investigators said the man walked in front of her vehicle.
