A red electric car repeatedly rammed a police car in Jiangxi province, China, on October 12, 2026, in an encounter documented in footage described by Dayoo.

The red car’s front bumper was detached. Nearby merchants described it as a low-speed electric vehicle.

Officers from Binjiang Police Station were patrolling the intersection of Binxing Road and Yibin Avenue in Yichun at approximately 6:23 p.m. when they spotted the red car knocking over parked electric vehicles, according to a police account reproduced by Red Star News. They immediately intervened.

The driver, a 54-year-old man identified by the surname Liu, was apprehended at the scene after the car stopped. He was from Binjiang town in Yichun’s Yuanzhou district. No injuries were reported.

The initial collision occurred at approximately 6:21 p.m., when Liu struck a car waiting at a traffic light. He had purchased his electric car that day, and police attributed the first collision to unfamiliarity with its operation and improper use.

Liu struck the parked electric vehicles and the police car while fleeing that first collision. Tests ruled out alcohol- and drug-impaired driving.

Police placed Liu under criminal coercive measures on suspicion of endangering public safety by dangerous means. The specific measure imposed was not identified in the reproduced statement.

The case remained under investigation.

All parties are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
