China’s automotive market has welcomed another powerful plug-in hybrid SUV, and buyers certainly haven’t wasted any time showing their interest. As reported by CarNewsChina, Geely’s newly launched Battleship 700 secured over 10,000 firm orders within just 12 minutes of going on sale.
Officially introduced on October 10, the Geely Galaxy Battleship 700, known locally as the Zhanjian 700, is a large, rugged-looking SUV designed to compete with models such as the BYD Fang Cheng Bao Ti 7. It combines serious performance, off-road capability, and an unusually extensive list of luxury features.
Perhaps its biggest attraction is the pricing, which starts at 179,800 yuan, approximately $26,800. Even the most expensive version costs 369,800 yuan, or around $55,200.
Those prices are for the Chinese market, with no confirmed plans for international availability. Still, the initial order figures suggest Geely has found an enthusiastic audience for its latest electrified SUV.
Up To 1,114 HP From A Plug-In Hybrid Powertrain

The Battleship 700 is built on Geely’s GTA off-road platform and comes with three powertrain configurations. The entry-level model combines a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine with one electric motor, producing 469 horsepower.
A more powerful triple-motor version increases output to 925 horsepower, while the flagship 2.0-liter triple-motor setup delivers an astonishing 1,114 horsepower and 1,330 Nm (981 lb-ft) of torque. Geely claims the range-topping SUV can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.95 seconds.
A 47.14-kWh battery provides a claimed electric-only range of up to 305 km (190 miles) under China’s CLTC testing cycle. The company also quotes a combined driving range exceeding 1,770 km (1,100 miles), although real-world figures will vary.
Off-Road Capability With Some Unusual Tricks
Measuring approximately 200 inches long, the Battleship 700 features a boxy design, 233 mm (9.2 inches) of ground clearance, and an adjustable air suspension system.
It can reportedly wade through water up to 800 mm (31.5 inches) deep and even offers an emergency floating mode. Geely claims the vehicle can move through water at up to 4.3 mph for as long as 40 minutes under suitable conditions.
A Luxury Cabin Packed With Technology

Inside, the Battleship 700 offers five interconnected displays, heated and ventilated massage seats, and an 18.5-liter refrigerator. There’s even an onboard oxygen generator and rear seating that folds into a bed.
Advanced driver-assistance technology includes a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor and automated parking capabilities. With this combination of power, equipment, and aggressive pricing, it’s not difficult to understand why the Battleship 700 attracted so much attention immediately after launch.
