A California dealership has sold a 2027 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X Convertible for $390,000, nearly $102,000 above its original sticker price. The sale reveals just how much some buyers are willing to spend to get their hands on Chevrolet’s most powerful production Corvette.

The transaction took place on Bring a Trailer on October 13, 2026, where the black ZR1X attracted a winning bid well into exotic-car territory. Its original window sticker listed a price of $288,064, making the final bid approximately 35% higher than MSRP.

Of course, this isn’t an ordinary Corvette. The ZR1X combines a twin-turbocharged V8 with an electric motor to produce a staggering 1,250 horsepower, while this particular example features an extensive list of expensive performance upgrades.

The car had just 19 miles on its odometer and had never been registered to a private owner. It was offered with its Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin, giving the winning bidder the opportunity to become its first registered owner.

A $390,000 Corvette With Plenty Of Carbon Fiber

Finished in black, the ZR1X Convertible features the range-topping 3LZ trim and optional ZTK Performance Track Package. It also received a $13,000 Carbon Fiber Aero Package, adding an aggressive rear wing, front dive planes, and additional aerodynamic components.

Another expensive option is the approximately $16,000 set of staggered carbon-fiber wheels, measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. They’re wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, while massive carbon-ceramic brakes feature 10-piston front and six-piston rear calipers.

The cabin combines Habanero and Jet Black leather with carbon-fiber accents, heated and ventilated GT2 seats, and a Bose audio system. A power-retractable carbon-fiber hardtop completes the convertible configuration.

Twin-Turbo V8 Power With Electric Assistance

The ZR1X pairs Chevrolet’s twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter LT7 V8 with an electric motor driving the front wheels. Together, they produce a factory-rated 1,250 horsepower and 973 lb-ft of torque.

An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission sends the V8’s power to the rear wheels, while the electric motor provides additional traction at the front. The result is an all-wheel-drive hybrid supercar with performance figures that rival far more expensive exotic machinery.

The Buyer Gets An Important Warranty Advantage

Because the Corvette had never been registered to a private owner, the winning bidder can become its first registered owner. That also makes its warranty situation a bit more interesting compared to a previously owned example.

Under General Motors’ restrictions, the buyer must retain the Corvette for at least 12 months, or its warranty will be void for subsequent owners. The auction also specified that the Corvette must be sold and registered in the United States and cannot be purchased by brokers, wholesale or retail dealers, or Montana-based LLCs.

Whether paying nearly $102,000 over MSRP makes financial sense might be up for discussion, but this sale proves that at least one buyer was willing to pay a substantial premium to get behind the wheel of Chevrolet’s 1,250-horsepower flagship.
