We all love to see someone hit with instant karma. Especially if they do something stupid on the road. For those of us who do enjoy watching that, the r/dashcams subreddit has given us an almost perfect example of instant karma from Australia, involving a perfectly timed arrival by the police.
Posted on Reddit by user blushivani, the footage is filmed from a car simply minding its own business in a lane somewhere in an Australian town or city. As the car approaches a set of traffic lights, a blue sedan in front of it tries to pull in front aggressively.
The car appears to try to force its way into the lane to its left, even though it’s clearly occupied. While the blue sedan does indicate, it does so quite late and refuses to accept that a car is pulling up alongside it.
But it is what happens next that is really eye-catching. The blue sedan pulls in front and then slams on the brakes, with the driver angrily getting out to confront the dashcam car’s driver. It was bad luck for the sedan’s driver, however, as two police cars suddenly appeared towards the end of the video.

The car we are riding in is minding its own business when the blue sedan suddenly indicates left and pulls in front of it. He indicated and moved at about the same time, suggesting a check of the mirrors was optional in this instant. But then the car hesitates, suggesting the driver had spotted the dashcam car, before it tries to move over anyway, and it hits the side of the camera car.
Even as the two vehicles approach the traffic lights, the blue sedan keeps trying to push the other car out of the way. Both of them go through the lights, with the sedan then getting in front, and both cars then pull over. Given that the two cars collided, it seems logical to allow them to check for damage. But the driver of the dashcam car probably didn’t expect what happened next.
The driver of the blue sedan angrily climbed out and walked over to the lady driving the dashcam car. She must have noticed his aggressive manner as she looked to be filming him. The passenger in the sedan just looked on, while the man grew increasingly angry before attempting to throw a punch at the driver of the dashcam vehicle.
It was at this point that he must have spotted the police as he got back into his own car.
The Police Didn’t Let Him Get Away
Soon after trying to throw a punch, the driver and his passenger quickly walked back to the blue car. They had clearly spotted the police, as they got in as quickly as they could to try to drive away. Unfortunately for them, one of the two police cars came alongside them, lights flashing, and then pulled in front of the sedan to block its path.
Behind it was another police car that parked up behind the leading vehicle. The video then ends, but it’s clear that the officers had either spotted the entire confrontation or the driver attempting to punch the person driving the dashcam vehicle. Reddit users found the punch attempt itself quite amusing. “He runs with his fist up like a toddler,” said one. “You call that running? Actually, it’s the best part of the video. Look how long it takes for him to accelerate…” replied another.
The fact that the police turned up just a few seconds later made this particular moment even more memorable.
