If an aggressive driver is chasing you, there aren’t many places safer to go than a police station. That’s exactly what one Oregon couple decided to do after a road rage confrontation spiraled completely out of control.
According to the Beaverton Police Department, the incident happened around 7:25 am on July 26 in south Beaverton. Investigators say a 29-year-old man pursued another driver through traffic, crossed into oncoming lanes, and even drove in reverse for more than a mile.
The victim, who was traveling with his wife, told police the suspect repeatedly reached toward his coat in a way that made it appear he was reaching for a firearm. Rather than stopping or trying to confront him, the couple continued driving until they reached the Beaverton Police Department.
Officers quickly took the suspect into custody after both vehicles arrived. Police later recovered a black airsoft handgun from the man’s jacket pocket and charged him with reckless driving and menacing.

The Beaverton Police Department identified the suspect as 29-year-old Arman K. Hastings of Beaverton. According to the Facebook report, the road rage incident began after a confrontation between the two drivers and quickly escalated into a dangerous pursuit through city streets.
In the video provided, you can see clips of the dashcam footage, showing off the suspect’s impressive driving skills through residential streets and even an intersection.
Once the couple arrived at the police department, officers quickly located Hastings and arrested him without incident. During the arrest, police recovered what they described as a black airsoft handgun from his jacket pocket.
Hastings was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of reckless driving and menacing.
Commenters Praise the Couple’s Quick Thinking and Roast the Suspect
Many viewers praised the victim for driving straight to the police department instead of trying to handle the situation alone. Others also applauded the dashcam footage, with one commenter saying it convinced them to invest in front and rear cameras and asking what system the victim was using.
Not everyone focused solely on the arrest, though. A few people wondered what happened before the video began, with one writing, “The camera car obviously did something that triggered that guy. If you’re not ready for the smoke, then don’t road rage at all.”
There was also no shortage of humor. Some joked that “Road raging, in a Subaru, with an airsoft gun is like peak Beaverton,” while another laughed about the moment an officer confidently said, “Don’t worry, I got this.”
