You may or may not have wondered about the unexpected things that can happen on the road. You could come across something you really didn’t expect, and the r/dashcams subreddit has plenty of footage along those lines. One of which has recently emerged.
The video is simply captioned “Anything can happen on the road,” and it shows us on board a car heading down the highway, with everything appearing totally normal. Our car passes by a semi-truck while other cars are driving past us, and there doesn’t appear to be anything out of the ordinary happening.
It is then that carnage unfolds. Without giving too much away, a pickup truck loses its wheel before a car that has just passed the camera gets launched into the sky. Debris flies through the air, and it is a truly chaotic scene on the interstate.
The aim of the video is to show that anything really can happen on our roads. Be it bad or good. Everything can seem perfectly normal, and then it only takes a second for something truly crazy to take place. That is exactly what we see in this instance.
What Happened in the Dashcam Footage?

The start of the video is normal, with cars passing each other and simply carrying on as you’d expect. Suddenly, the pickup truck in the lane to our right loses its front-left wheel, which then shoots across to the inside lane and straight in front of a car that has just gone past the dashcam vehicle. With no time to react, the car in front drives straight into the wheel.
Somehow, the wheel rides underneath the car, and it shoots it into the air in a horrifying-looking accident. The small car flies up, rolls, and lands upside down back on the highway, while the pickup truck driver tries his best to keep the truck under control. There is very little that either car could do in this situation. The wheel coming off was incredibly sudden, and the pickup driver will have had little control over his car after the wheel had come off.
The car that got launched lands on its roof, but thankfully it does then flip onto its wheels and then just slides down the highway without rolling over. Debris is thrown all over the place as the dashcam vehicle tries its best not to get caught up in the horrific accident. We can see the pickup truck driver pulling off in the distance, trying to get out of the way of the cars behind it as quickly as possible. It was no doubt a horrifying thing for other motorists to watch.
Reddit Users Were Shocked by the Accident
There were quite a lot of astounded users after watching that video. “Repost, but that was wild to see again! Don’t think there was anything that could have been done to prevent that accident,” said one user. “Man, that’s the kind of thing you don’t even get time to react to,” said another one.
There really was no time to react, as the car had just a second or two to do anything after the truck’s wheel flew off. There’s a chance they may not have even seen the wheel fly off in front of them, given how close they were to the truck.
