Dashcam footage can provide some of the most outrageous automotive moments. It often showcases the absolute worst when it comes to driving, and the r/dashcams subreddit is often the place to be. One piece of footage recently uploaded to the Reddit thread shows just how outrageous some of that driving is.

The video was uploaded by user odeaura, and it is entitled “people are getting crazier every day.” The text overlay on the video states, “Karma was fast,” and it shows a pickup truck and the dashcam vehicle at a set of traffic lights.

The video points out the lane that the pickup truck was sitting in. Painted in the lane is an arrow, indicating that any vehicle in that lane can only turn left. However, it would appear that the driver of this truck didn’t get the memo, judging by his actions.

Instead, the driver of this truck thought it would be a good idea to just keep going straight. But that meant he intruded on the lane that the dashcam vehicle was in and effectively cut him off. What the truck driver didn’t realize, however, was that a police car was coming the other way.

Karma Came Quickly for the Pickup Truck

The lights up ahead were green for both the truck and the dashcam car. So both cars were well within their right to proceed as normal through the lights. But the truck was in a left-turning lane and was not supposed to go straight on. For whatever reason, they ignored that and thought they’d cut off the car that was coming up behind them instead.

So the truck just cut straight in front of the dashcam vehicle. What was unfortunate for them, however, was that coming the other way was a police car. And the officers inside saw everything. They saw the truck cut them off and heard the horn from the dashcam vehicle. It took them a second to turn their flashing lights on, turn around, and go chasing after the pickup truck that had tried to make its escape.

Thanks to audio from the dashcam, we can hear how happy the occupants are. They were rightly annoyed at what the truck had done and how they had been cut off, but were also happy to see the police car change direction and go chasing after the truck. It quickly caught up to the truck and pulled it over, and we can only imagine how embarrassed and annoyed the truck driver felt in that particular moment.

Reddit Users Loved Seeing Karma Dished Out Instantly

Naturally, there were plenty of funny comments on the Reddit post about the incident. And a lot of users took great joy from seeing karma dished out so fast. “You can tell he knew he was [expletive] by how slow and dainty he was driving when he noticed the cop. If the cop wasn’t there, 100% he would have gunned it, then brake-checked the cam driver and sped off like a toddler,” said one of them.

“He should have signaled and turned left as soon as he saw the police!” said another of the users. “Literally that’s all he had to do, then turn into that gas station to come back out,” said another user in response to that comment. One user summed it up perfectly, saying, “The number of people these days who treat the minor inconvenience they would have to face to correct their own mistake as a sufficient reason to endanger others is staggering”.
