An 18-year-old Arizona man’s relationship may have been over, but police say he found a particularly destructive way to make one more visit to his ex’s house.

Mesa police were called to a home near Gilbert and Baseline roads around 1:45 a.m. Sunday after a car went through a brick wall while several people were inside.

The driver was gone by the time officers arrived.

Police found him nearby and eventually identified him as 18-year-old Collin Knight, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. Investigators say Knight previously had a relationship with one of the people inside the house and believe the crash was intentional.

Fortunately, none of the people inside suffered serious injuries.

Police Say Teen Left After Car Went Through Wall

ABC15 reports that officers arrived to find the car embedded in a brick wall of the home. Police say Knight had left before they arrived but was taken into custody nearby.

FOX 10 reports that Knight was initially taken to a local hospital for treatment before being booked.

Police say he faces nine charges involving aggravated assault, endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, and criminal damage. Additional DUI charges were pending as the investigation continued.

Court records reviewed by FOX 10 showed a judge set Knight’s bond at $50,000 Sunday afternoon. His next court appearance was scheduled for Aug. 21.

Facebook Had Questions About One Particular Word

Photos of the car sitting in the damaged house produced plenty of reactions on Facebook, including several readers questioning why ABC15 described the crash as something Knight “allegedly” did.

“Allegedly? I can see the car in the house Lol,” one commenter wrote.

Another had essentially the same reaction: “Allegedly? IDK it kinda looks like he did.”

There is an important distinction. There doesn’t appear to be much question that a car went through the wall. The allegation that matters is that Knight intentionally drove it into the house because someone with whom he previously had a relationship was inside. Police believe that was deliberate, but that allegation has not been proven in court.

Other commenters concentrated less on legal terminology and more on the unusual circumstances.

“That’ll definitely get them to take you back,” one person joked.

Another went with a familiar parking-lot observation: “Can’t park there bud.”

Perhaps the most concise assessment came from someone who wrote simply, “Mr big feelings.”

Knight is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
