The video circulating on X originates from a post by @AmiriKing and has brought a sad Ohio case back into the spotlight. The footage compiles local news reporting from Columbus stations alongside crash scene visuals, police records, and mugshots.
The crash itself happened in April, but the case is going viral now as more people learn about the allegations and question whether the justice system is doing enough to keep repeat impaired-driving offenders off the road.
According to the report featured in the video, the incident centers on a fatal crash in Columbus, Ohio, on Interstate 270. Authorities say a woman struck two vehicles that were stopped on the left shoulder, leading to the death of 45-year-old Jodi Tackett. Another person suffered serious injuries while reportedly dealing with a vehicle issue at the roadside.
The crash occurred in the early hours of April 13, 2026, near the Georgesville Road exit on I-270 southbound. Police say the driver left the scene on foot before being located and detained at a nearby shopping center.
The Interstate 270 Crash Scene
The incident unfolded along a busy stretch of Interstate 270 in the Columbus metro area, where multiple vehicles had stopped on the left shoulder. According to the local news package included in the @AmiriKing post, Jodi Tackett was sitting in the passenger seat of a car stopped behind a minivan, where two adults were changing a tire.
Court documents cited by ABC6 say both vehicles had their hazard lights on and were clearly out of the moving lanes. Police say Wright lost control of her car, crashed into the vehicle Tackett was sitting in, and pushed it into the minivan.
Tackett died at the scene. One of the people working on the minivan was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The video shows police activity, traffic disruption, and investigators working through the aftermath of the scene.
Allegations of Impairment and Flight
Police reports cited in the broadcast included in the viral video state the driver had a blood alcohol level of 0.136 percent. Authorities also allege she was driving while her license was suspended at the time of the crash.
After the collision, she reportedly left the scene on foot. Law enforcement later detained her at a nearby shopping center, according to the footage shared in the @AmiriKing post.
Wright has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide in connection with the crash. Prosecutors also indicated in court that additional charges could be forthcoming based on the fatal crash, her alleged flight from the scene, and her prior history.
Bond was set at approximately $1 million, with strict conditions that include no alcohol use. The charges are allegations, and Wright is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Prosecutors Pointed to Prior OVI History
Court records referenced in the video outline a history of driving-related violations. During the hearing, prosecutors said Wright had three prior OVI convictions within the past 10 years, with the most recent occurring in 2024.
According to statements made in court and reported by ABC6, Wright was also charged three times with driving on a suspended license in that 2024 case. Those suspended-license charges were dismissed in exchange for her pleading guilty to OVI.

The courts let her out and now she killed another person while driving drunk.

A Prior Deadly Crash Also Came Up In Court
The ABC6 report also referenced a July 2020 crash involving Wright. Police said Wright hit and killed a pedestrian, though the station reported that investigators said the man walked in front of her vehicle.
Wright was charged with driving on a suspended license in connection with that incident, but ABC6 reported that the charge was later dismissed.
The report does not indicate that Wright was convicted in connection with the pedestrian’s death.
Why The Case Is Getting So Much Attention Online
The case has drawn significant attention online, largely because of concerns about repeat impaired-driving offenders remaining on the road despite prior convictions. The video shared by @AmiriKing amplifies that criticism by highlighting court history alongside the new charges.
Public discussion has focused on whether earlier judicial decisions and penalties were sufficient to prevent further harm. Prosecutors argued Wright’s driving history was relevant to the bond decision, but the current case still has to move through the court system.
For now, the confirmed focus is the April 2026 I-270 crash, the death of Jodi Tackett, the serious injury to another roadside victim, and the charges Wright now faces in Columbus.
