A reckless driver in Paulding County, Georgia, was arrested after taking local police officers on a wild goose chase in a U-Haul truck. As seen in the wild footage, despite officers having to perform a PIT maneuver to stop the driver, flipping the vehicle over, no one was injured.
According to the video, the incident happened on May 6, 2026, at approximately 12:15 pm. An on-scene investigation revealed that the driver of the U-Haul was 37-year-old Damian Jones. It was also revealed that he had MDMA, better known as the drug ecstasy.
The footage shows Jones driving erratically through traffic after leaving Cobb County and entering Paulding County. At one point, he hits another vehicle and continues to evade the cops.
After the U-Haul was flipped over, officers rushed to help Jones escape the vehicle by breaking down the windshield before ultimately arresting him.

To remove Damian Jones from inside the vehicle, police asked him if he was able to climb out of the driver’s side door, which was above his head. After determining that he was unable to, one officer kicked in the windshield, breaking it. Other officers had their weapons trained on Jones in the process.
Once police officers had removed Jones from the front seat of the flipped U-Haul truck, he was placed on top of a nearby vehicle, searched, and placed in handcuffs.
Alongside the possession of drugs, officers also learned that Jones had multiple warrants for his arrest in DeKalb County and Marion County in Georgia, as well as in New Jersey. He was also responsible for various hit-and-run car accidents within Cobb County.
Despite having sent the police on a wild goose chase through Paulding County, after finally being apprehended, it appears that the suspect did not react negatively and complied with officers. He can be seen walking in handcuffs with another officer towards a police vehicle before being placed inside.
Charged With Multiple Charges On Top Of Previous Ones
The caption that the PauldingSheriff YouTube channel put on the video is particularly funny. It says, “Legendary. You can go anywhere in the state of Georgia, but one thing is for certain: if you come to Paulding County looking for a chase, you’ve met your match. This silly goose decided to leave Cobb and come to Paulding… On this episode of Fool Around and Find Out Friday, meet Mr. Jones.”
The Facebook group Paulding County Crime posted Jones’ mugshot alongside a link to The Georgia Gazette that details his reasons for booking in this case. According to this, he was booked on the same date of the incident for reckless driving, obstruction of law enforcement officers, failure to maintain lane/improper driving on the road, fleeing or attempting to elude, and speeding.
If convicted of these charges, then Jones could face up to $3,000 in fines and up to nine years in prison. It is currently unclear if there was any clear motive behind the suspect’s actions and behavior throughout the chase.
