A Rolls-Royce luxury car can turn heads wherever it goes, but the sight of two of them in central London was enough to get everybody talking. The two cars were spotted by Instagrammer and supercar spotter tfjj, with the two cars taking part in an official photo and filming event for the British luxury car company.
Not only did they turn heads, but these two cars happen to be the most expensive new cars ever sold in the world as of May 2026, adding an extra layer of luxury to the pair. In fact, the two cars totaled up to $64 million, so it is no wonder they captured people’s attention, with a third car helping bump things up to the magic $64 million figure.
These three cars perfectly personify what it is that makes Rolls-Royce such an amazing car brand. Add in the mystique of the mysterious owners, and it becomes even more remarkable that these cars made it to London.
Most of us can only dream of owning cars like these. So witnessing them in the heart of England is as close as many of us will likely be able to get.
The Two Cars Are Exclusive Rolls-Royce Editions

The two cars in question are the $30 million Rolls-Royce Droptail and the $28 million Rolls-Royce Boat Tail. While the Droptail has been seen in London on a previous occasion, the Boat Tail, usually limited to Dubai, is making its first visit to England’s capital city.
Both cars are highly exclusive, and in fact, there are just three of the Boat Tails in the world, each one commissioned by a different client. The Boat Tail was built in 2021 and 2022, and when new, it was the most expensive street-legal car in the world with its $28 million asking price, thanks to the highly customized design. Aesthetic inspiration for the car came from the yachts of the 1920s and 1930s, while it shares many of its internal components with the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Design inspiration also came from the 1932 Rolls-Royce Phantom Boat Tail, which again took its own inspiration from the luxury yachts of the time.
The power comes from a 6.75-liter N75B68 twin-turbocharged V12 engine, perfect for luxury cruising with or without the roof folded down. You get plenty of luxury in a Boat Tail, with the cars boasting rotating cocktail tables, Christofle tableware, two fridges, a parasol that extends from the rear deck, and matching men’s and women’s watches.
Rolls-Royce’s Droptail Matches the Boat Tail With Its Luxury

If that wasn’t enough, London was also graced by the presence of the Rolls-Royce Droptail on the same day. The British manufacturer introduced this car in August 2023, and in total, four versions of the luxury coach-built grand tourer were produced in that year. Unlike the Boat Tail, it isn’t yachts that inspired the design of this stunning British grand tourer; instead, that came from some of the company’s most famous cars from its past.
These included the 1912 Silver Ghost ‘Sluggard’, the 1925 Silver Ghost Piccadilly, and the 1930 Phantom Brewster New York Roadster. With an incredible starting price of $30 million, the Droptail surpassed the Boat Tail as the most expensive new car on sale in the world.
This car also took its power from the same 6.75-liter V12 engine, shared with the Phantom. Each of the four Drop Tails took a different name, color, and interior, with the gorgeous La Rose Noire version being the one spotted out and about in London. The other two that gained names are the Amethyst and the Arcadia, while the name of the fourth Droptail has been kept a secret by its private owner.
Another Rolls-Royce Joined the Drop Tail and the Boat Tail

Joining these two machines was a third Rolls-Royce, still expensive, yet it looked like a bargain compared to the other pair. This was the $6 million Goldfinger edition Phantom, commissioned by a Brit earlier in 2026, and it pays homage to the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger.
A British collector commissioned the car, marking 60 years of the film and drawing inspiration from the 1937 Phantom III Sedanca de Ville owned by the film’s villain, Auric Goldfinger. It is finished in a two-tone color scheme of yellow and black, with one of its coolest features being a hidden vault in the center console that houses an illuminating 18-carat gold bar.
The three cars put on a real show in London, and each showcased the level of luxury that the British manufacturer continues to pride itself on. Long may it continue to produce remarkable cars such as the Boat Tail and Droptail, finished in a two-tone yellow-and-black color scheme, with one of its coolest features being the hidden vault in the center console housing an illuminating 18-carat gold bar.
