A woman in Pierce County, Washington, is accused of assaulting her mother with a handsaw and then striking her and a dog with a pickup truck. This inevitably led to a police pursuit, after which the woman, who was naked through the entire string of bizarre and violent events, was finally put in handcuffs.
According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Friday, July 17. At 11:33 a.m., deputies responded to the 65000 block of 302nd St. Ct. S in the city of Roy. They had received a domestic violence call.
As per the PCSO, a mother reported that her adult daughter, 46, was completely naked. While in the nude, she had allegedly assaulted her mother with a handsaw.
The 46-year-old was also accused of preventing her mother from calling 911. This prompted the mother to flee the Roy home and use a neighbor’s phone to contact the authorities.
Striking Mother With a Truck
Things would just escalate moving forward. The daughter, still unclothed, got into a red pickup truck and attempted to run her over, the sheriff’s office said.
This resulted in the mother and the family dog being struck by the vehicle. The neighbor, who was with her at the time, wasn’t hit.
“Both victims reported she backed up like she was going to try to hit them again,” the PCSO said. However, the woman chose to leave the scene.
Head-on Crash
Responding deputies quickly located the woman’s pickup truck. Deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop, but she refused to comply.
She is accused of swerving and nearly striking a police officer. The agent was trying to put stop sticks in the road to stop her in her tracks.
A PIT maneuver was performed by a pursuing deputy. As a result, the patrol car struck a civilian vehicle head-on. As a result of the collision, a female civilian and a police officer were injured. Both were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, and both vehicles were totaled.
Pursuit Ends
The footage attached above shows the aftermath of the PIT maneuver. The pickup truck, now stopped, was approached by multiple officers with their weapons drawn.
The unnamed woman remained inside the car despite officers telling her to exit. Eventually, one officer opened the driver’s door, and the woman was arrested. She was still completely naked and, according to the PCSO, was having a mental health crisis.
The 46-year-old is charged with multiple counts of first-degree assault (domestic violence), eluding, resisting arrest, and other outstanding warrants. She was also evaluated for mental health supports.
