A woman has taken to TikTok to express bemusement at what her husband did after he said he was going to get her a new car. She had expected him to come back with a Mercedes G-Wagen, but he came back with a Mazda SUV instead.

TikTok user Abby Anderson had stated quite clearly that she is a Mercedes G-Wagen enthusiast. They are her favorite car. Knowing her husband knew this, she decided to let him pick her next car, hoping, of course, that he would pick the Mercedes that she wanted.

So you can probably imagine the surprise on her face when, rather than come home with her dream Mercedes, her husband came back with a shiny, brand-new Mazda CX-90 SUV instead. It certainly wasn’t what she was expecting her husband to come back with, but the big question is: was it a car she was happy with?

If you are expecting your dream car, it could come as a shock and disappointment to then not have that. However, Anderson wasn’t going to be miserable or upset about what he had chosen. In fact, she seemed quite happy about his choice for her.

What She Said About the Mazda CX-90

“I’ll start by saying I appreciate whatever it is, as long as it’s black,” said Anderson at the start of the video. So she was still going to be happy with the choice of the car. “I pray it’s not a Toyota Sienna Minivan. We all know that he priced one out. I would love to have a BMW X6, but Dad doesn’t like Euro funk,” she added.

When she turned around in her video to see a Mazda, she was actually very upbeat about the car her husband had chosen. “Oh my God!” she shouted while her husband was sitting in the bed of his pickup truck. “And you don’t even know what it is yet, do you?” he asked, but she did know, and she hugged him while grinning from ear to ear. Quite clearly, the choice of car was a correct one.

“Oh my god, babe,” she was heard saying as she hugged her husband. Many say that Mazda actually hit the sweet spot when it comes to luxury offerings with cars that are available at a more entry-level price. Sme Mazda dealerships have called the company’s lineup “premium mainstream,” which does seem like a fair way to describe the cars.

Are Mazdas the Best of Luxury and Reliability?

You could see that owning a Mazda offers the best of both worlds. Not only do you get a relatively affordable car, but you get one that is reliable and also of good quality. Consumer Reports published rankings in 2025, ranking used car reliability for vehicles aged between five and ten years.

The top three brands were Lexus, Toyota, and Mazda. Mercedes-Benz came in 11th, while Tesla ranked last among the 26 brands. So while Anderson might not have gotten her dream car, the one she got wasn’t exactly a bad choice either.

In fact, you could argue she got the better deal.
