If you thought a standard Range Rover SVAutobiography was the last word in the British brand’s assemblage of luxury SUVs, think again. A recent Top Gear spotlights what could be the most extravagant Range Rover currently in production: the Holland and Holland edition by Overfinch. And extravagant might be putting it mildly.

This ultra-exclusive build starts life as a long wheelbase SVAutobiography powered by the P615 V8, delivering 615 bhp with mild hybrid assistance. Mechanically, it remains largely standard. The magic happens in the craftsmanship, detailing, and the kind of bespoke finishing that sends the price soaring into rarefied air.

Pricing begins at roughly double the base SVAutobiography’s £225,000 (approx. $304k) sticker. In the right specification, this Overfinch creation can easily reach £550,000 ($742k approx.). And that figure can still climb dramatically depending on what you choose to stash in the trunk.

A Legacy of Enhancement, Now with Restrained Opulence

Overfinch has been enhancing Land Rover products since the mid-1970s. The company is known for carbon fiber body kits, engine upgrades, lavish interior retrims, and eye watering wheel options.

A set of 24-inch Vortex wheels alone can cost nearly £20,000. Exhaust upgrades approach £9,000. Yet compared to its usual flamboyance, the Holland and Holland edition is relatively restrained.

The exterior is finished in a deep British Racing Green, complemented by gold Overfinch hood badging, subtle grille revisions, and Holland and Holland crests with intricate chequering.

Bespoke 23-inch wheels with gimble center caps and tasteful scrollwork round out the look. At the rear, a full width light bar integrates the Overfinch blade, accented again with gold detailing. It is unmistakably opulent, but not loud.

The real theatre begins when you open the trunk.

Champagne, Crystal, and £400,000 in Shotguns

Nestled inside the trunk are piggybacked companion chests crafted by Holland & Holland, the legendary British gunmaker established in 1835. These handcrafted walnut and leather cases transform the cargo area into something closer to a private members club than an SUV.

The upper chest reveals champagne bottles and eight monogrammed flutes engraved with the Holland and Holland crest. There is a staghorn corkscrew, silver topped champagne corks adorned with miniature grouse, and even a cigar case complete with cutter.

The lower drawer contains cutlery, plates, and monogrammed napkins for eight guests. A walnut table folds out to create an impromptu picnic station. Cut glass tumblers, gin, sloe gin, and shotgun cartridge inspired hip flasks complete the setup.

The companion chest option alone costs between £50,000 and £60,000 (approx. $67k to $81k). But that is merely the prelude.

Hidden beneath is space for a matched pair of Holland and Holland Royal side by side shotguns. These heirloom grade firearms, finished with hand engraved scrollwork and exquisite walnut stocks, can cost between £360,000 and £370,000 (around $498k) for the pair.

Combined with the companion chests, you are looking at around £400,000 (approx. $539k) invested purely in transforming the trunk area into a sporting gentleman’s dream.

An Interior Worthy of a Royal Gunmaker

The shotgun inspiration continues inside the main cabin. The client can select from three primary leather themes including full London Tan, full Harris Green, or a split combination.

The rear seats feature embroidered game birds, extensive quilted leather, open pore walnut, and brass fittings engraved with motifs lifted directly from the Royal shotgun.

Door cards incorporate scaled engravings crafted by Holland and Holland’s master engravers. Even the gear selector and steering wheel carry subtle branding and marquetry that echo the gunmaker’s detailing. The craftsmanship feels obsessive in the best possible way. Every surface is tactile, perfectly aligned, and undeniably rich.

Exclusivity Meets Artistry

Only 25 examples will ever be built. According to Top Gear’s review, that exclusivity, paired with the sheer level of bespoke artistry, makes the astronomical price easier to justify for the right buyer.

For most drivers, this will remain a fantasy. But as a showcase of British craftsmanship blended with modern luxury SUV engineering, the Holland and Holland edition by Overfinch stands as one of the most decadent interpretations of the Range Rover yet.
