Good news for those who have been hoping to configure and set up their 2027 Dodge Charger muscle car. The order books for the next version of the car have now opened, and that means that the configurator for the car is also live.
It has been an interesting time for the American muscle car over recent times. It of course came back initially as an EV, with the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT in 2022. But it has of course now returned with combustion power under the hood, much to the delight of enthusiasts.
Now, anyone who has been thinking about getting one for the 2027 model year can get their order in as soon as they like. Using the configurator also gives customers a rundown of the total cost they will have to pay when they have specced out their particular muscle car.
Buyers will be able to choose from a wide array of specs too. The base R/T model is still available, while if you want to spend as much as possible, you can work your way right up to the Daytona Scat Pack Plus, the top of the current range.
What Can You Get for Your Money?
At the time of writing, the 2027 Dodge Charger range has a starting price of $49,995 for the base R/T model. That is the same as the previous model year, with just two variants having had their prices changed for 2027. The range-topping Daytona Scat Pack Plus has seen a huge price jump, from $64,990 to $77,490. The R/T Plus has also had a price hike, but a much smaller one, from $54,990 to $56,285.
The Scat Pack will set you back $54,995, and the Scat Pack Plus also has an unchanged MSRP of $54,990. That is the starting price for the two-door Charger. For the extra two doors, it is $2,000 for each version except for the Daytona. That will set you back just another $500 for the four-door Daytona model.
Then we come to the engine specs. For the entry-level R/T, you get a Hurricane twin-turbocharged inline-six engine making 420hp and 468lb-ft of torque. The Dodge Charger Six Pack Scat Pack, meanwhile, gets the High Output version of the Hurricane engine, making 550hp and 531lb-ft of torque. It also trims the 0- 60 mph time down from 4.6 seconds to 3.9 seconds.
More Power Is Available Further up the Range
If you want even more power, then you can get the electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack Plus. This is the most powerful version of the muscle car, with its two electric pumps producing 670hp and 627lb-ft of torque in total. It is certainly rapid, with a 0- 60 mph time of 3.3 seconds, and it can run the 1/4 mile in just 11.5 seconds. Even those who don’t like electric power will concede that it is very impressive.
One new feature for 2027 is the North American Charging System (NACS) port. This allows owners to charge their Charger at Tesla Superchargers without needing a DC fast-charging adapter. A small but welcome feature for EV owners. With enough battery capacity for 317 miles of range, the electric Charger shouldn’t cause any range anxiety.
Customization Is Key With the 2027 Dodge Charger
