Toyota’s got something bold brewing for 2026, and it’s as zesty as it sounds. Say hello to the GR86 Yuzu Edition — a limited-run stunner that pairs classic rear-wheel-drive fun with a head-turning splash of yellow and a dose of motorsport grit.

Inspired by the memorable Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0, the Yuzu Edition borrows its name and glow from the citrusy Japanese fruit. Only 860 units will be made for North America, making this one a rare gem for driving enthusiasts with a soft spot for throwback colorways and sharp handling.

Track-Tested Looks and Upgrades

Based on the GR86 Premium trim, the Yuzu Edition packs more than a fresh paint job. Matte black 18-inch wheels and black exterior accents contrast with the bright Yuzu Yellow paint, while the interior gets a sporty lift from black Ultrasuede® seats, yellow perforation, and stitching details on the wheel, doors, and parking brake.

But it’s what’s underneath that really sets it apart. This edition comes standard with Toyota’s Performance Package — SACHS dampers and Brembo® brakes for improved ride control and stopping power. Whether you’re carving corners or taking the long way home, the GR86 Yuzu is built to deliver fun without compromise.

Naturally Aspirated, Pure Driving Joy

All GR86 models for 2026 — including the base, Premium, and Yuzu trims — are powered by the same tried-and-true 2.4-liter flat-four boxer engine delivering 228 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. Peak torque kicks in at just 3,700 RPM, making for snappy throttle response and a seriously fun drive.

Manual transmission fans can still row their own gears with a crisp 6-speed gearbox, while automatic drivers get paddle shifters and multiple driving modes to dial in the experience. And yes, a Torsen® limited-slip rear differential is standard either way, so you’ve got traction where it counts.

Light, Tight, and Ready to Move

Weighing in at just 2,811 lbs (manual) or 2,851 lbs (auto), the GR86 stays true to its lightweight sports car roots. Aluminum body panels and clever material choices keep the curb weight low and agility high.

It’s not just about performance, though. The driver-focused dashboard gets an 8-inch touchscreen, digital instrument panel, and intuitive controls. The Premium and Yuzu editions add extras like heated Ultrasuede® seats, an eight-speaker sound system, and advanced safety features—everything you need for spirited drives or relaxed commutes.

Designed by Drivers, For Drivers

Like all GAZOO Racing (GR) models, the GR86 earned its badge through real-world track testing, approved by Toyota’s own master driver and motorsports legend Akio Toyoda (aka Morizo). That means every tweak, from throttle mapping to suspension tuning, is built with joy and control in mind.

Toyota also throws in a one-year NASA (National Auto Sport Association) membership with each GR86 purchase—complete with a free High Performance Driving Event—so you can explore what this car was made for, in a safe, track-ready setting.

A Little Yuzu Goes a Long Way

Between its exclusive styling, race-ready upgrades, and the GR86’s well-earned reputation for delivering maximum smiles per mile, the Yuzu Edition is shaping up to be a future collector’s item. It arrives Fall 2025, but with only 860 available, you’ll want to keep your eye on the lot.
