A 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss is heading to auction in Switzerland, and it’s expected to fetch a substantial sum. Only 75 examples of this roofless supercar were ever built, making it one of the rarest road-going versions of the SLR McLaren.
This particular car is number 15 of the 75 produced and has been with its original owner since November 2009. Unlike many collectible supercars, it has also participated in several historic motorsport events.
Broad Arrow Auctions will offer the car at its Zürich sale on November 7, 2026, with an estimate of CHF 2.5 million to CHF 3 million. That’s roughly $3 million to $3.6 million, putting it firmly in the territory of highly collectible modern supercars.
Finished in Crystal Laurit Silver Metallic with a black and red leather interior, the car has covered just 13,410 kilometers (8,333 miles). Its condition and documented history could make it especially appealing to collectors.
No Roof, No Windshield, And A Supercharged V8

The SLR McLaren Stirling Moss is among the most extreme road cars Mercedes-Benz has ever produced. It has no roof, windshield, or side windows, leaving occupants fully exposed to the elements.
Under its long hood sits a supercharged 5.4-liter AMG V8 producing 650 PS (641 horsepower) and 820 Nm (605 lb-ft) of torque. Mercedes claimed a 0–100 km/h (62 mph) time of under 3.5 seconds and a top speed exceeding 300 km/h (186 mph).
Its carbon-fiber body helped reduce weight by approximately 200 kilograms compared with the SLR 722 S Roadster. Carbon-ceramic brakes, a rear diffuser, and an automatically deploying airbrake complement the performance-focused design.
Inspired By A Legendary Racing Victory

The Stirling Moss pays tribute to the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR that Stirling Moss and navigator Denis Jenkinson drove to victory in the 1955 Mille Miglia. They completed the famous Italian road race in just 10 hours, 7 minutes, and 48 seconds.
This particular SLR has its own Mille Miglia history, having participated in the event in 2012, 2015, and 2021. Its 2015 appearance coincided with the 60th anniversary of Moss’s historic victory.
The car was originally ordered in the Netherlands, with the owner specifying the distinctive black and red 300 SL Silver Arrow leather interior. Both seats were ordered in the smaller size, and the cabin features Stirling Moss’s signature on the center console.
A Rare SLR With One Owner Since New

According to Broad Arrow, the car has stayed with its original owner throughout its life and recently received a service in preparation for the sale. It is accompanied by Swiss registration documents.
With only 75 examples built, opportunities to purchase an SLR Stirling Moss are uncommon. This one’s original ownership, low mileage, and three Mille Miglia appearances give collectors several reasons to pay attention.
We’ll have to wait and see whether it reaches its CHF 3 million upper estimate, but the November auction should offer some insight into how collectors value one of Mercedes-Benz’s most unusual modern supercars.
