A pineapple is probably pretty low on the list of things most drivers expect to come flying at their windshield. However, West Chester Township Police said someone threw one from a moving vehicle at a Tesla in Ohio on October 1.

Police responded around 11 p.m. after the pineapple hit the front windshield of a Tesla Model Y, causing significant damage. No one was injured.

The Tesla had cameras, and police said the footage captured the pineapple being thrown and showed the vehicle involved. Police identified it as a gray Chevrolet Traverse.

Officers were already aware of other reports that night involving people throwing objects from vehicles. Before long, police found a Chevrolet matching the description and stopped it.

There Was Something Interesting on the Chevrolet

When an officer approached the Chevrolet, police said they saw what appeared to be dried egg yolk on the vehicle. Other reports that evening involved eggs being thrown at cars.

Police identified the four people inside the Chevrolet during the investigation. They were three 18-year-olds and a 17-year-old.

Jacob Braun, Bronson Moore, and the 17-year-old were charged with vehicular vandalism and complicity, according to police. Danden Schlake was charged with complicity.

Police Say You Don’t Have To Throw the Object To Face Charges

West Chester Township addressed why more than one person could face charges after an object was thrown from a vehicle. In its release, the township said anyone involved in that type of activity could be charged, even if they didn’t physically throw the object.

West Chester Police Lt. Dave Tivin said the incidents were much more serious than a prank. “This is not fun and games,” Tivin said in the Facebook post. “This isn’t kids running around throwing marshmallows at people. This is causing thousands of dollars of damage and is literally putting people’s lives at risk.”

West Chester Police said it is aware of other incidents in the region involving objects thrown from vehicles. The department is working with other law enforcement agencies on additional investigations.

Police Want To Hear About Similar Incidents

Police asked anyone who has had something thrown at their vehicle to make a report.

The department said even incidents with little or no damage could be useful to investigators as different incidents could be connected. Anyone with information can call West Chester Police at 513-777-2231.
