Shelby American has taken Ford’s already formidable F-150 Raptor R and transformed it into its most powerful off-road truck ever. The new 2026 Shelby Baja Raptor R produces more than 1,000 horsepower, combining extreme performance with a long list of suspension, styling, and durability upgrades designed for serious off-road use.

The latest truck continues a program that Shelby first launched in 2013, when it introduced its original Shelby Raptor. More than a decade later, the company says the newest Baja Raptor represents the most capable and most powerful version it has ever produced.

Shelby is offering two versions of the truck, giving buyers the choice between a modified EcoBoost V6-powered Raptor and the flagship Raptor R equipped with Ford’s supercharged Predator V8. Both receive extensive upgrades inside and out, although the V8 model sits firmly at the top of the lineup.

Production will take place at Shelby Performance’s facility in Bristol, Indiana, with availability limited through selected Shelby Performance Ford dealers across the United States. Every truck will also be entered into the official Shelby Registry and includes a three-year, 36,000-mile Shelby warranty.

A Four-Digit Power Upgrade

The biggest headline belongs to the Shelby Baja Raptor R. Ford’s 5.2-liter supercharged Predator V8 receives an extensive performance package centered around a massive 3.8-liter Whipple supercharger, helping push output beyond the 1,000-horsepower mark when running on 93-octane fuel.

Shelby also fits the truck with a high-performance air intake, billet throttle body, upgraded dual-core dual-pass intercooler system, and a Shelby-tuned Borla performance exhaust. The supercharger and intake manifold receive a distinctive Bengal Red powder-coated finish, making the engine bay every bit as dramatic as the performance figures suggest.

Buyers who prefer the standard Raptor’s twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 aren’t left out. Shelby upgrades the V6 with a new intake, larger intercooler, heat shield, and Borla exhaust, increasing output from the factory-rated 450 horsepower to 555 horsepower.

Built for Extreme Off-Road Driving

Shelby’s changes extend well beyond the powertrain. Both Baja Raptor models receive revised suspension components, premium lift springs, alignment revisions, and recalibrated speedometer and tire-pressure monitoring systems to accommodate their larger wheels and tires.

Every truck rides on 18-inch Shelby off-road wheels wrapped in 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 mud-terrain tires. The aggressive setup is intended to improve grip across sand, rocks, and loose terrain while giving the truck an even more commanding stance.

Exterior upgrades are equally extensive. Shelby fits a functional vented hood, painted grille, body-color fender flares, power-deployable running boards with integrated lighting, and heavy-duty front and rear bumpers supplied by Addictive Desert Designs.

Additional lighting comes from Vision X, including a 30-inch front light bar, auxiliary LED driving lights, large rear-facing lights, and a power-actuated light bar mounted above the cargo bed. The truck also receives a Baja chase rack complete with mounts for two full-size spare wheels and tires.

A Premium Interior to Match

Inside the cabin, Shelby adds numerous exclusive touches that separate the Baja Raptor from the standard Ford model. The interior features custom leather seat covers, carbon-fiber-style trim, billet aluminum racing pedals, embroidered floor mats, and Shelby-specific badging throughout the cabin.

Each truck also carries a serialized Shelby Registry plaque identifying it as one of the limited-production vehicles. Tinted windows and additional trim upgrades complete an interior that blends luxury with the truck’s rugged performance character.

Despite the extensive modifications, Shelby says Ford’s factory powertrain warranty remains intact. Owners also receive Shelby’s own three-year or 36,000-mile limited warranty for added peace of mind.

Exclusivity Comes With a Six-Figure Price

Performance at this level doesn’t come cheaply. The Shelby Baja Raptor equipped with the EcoBoost V6 starts at $146,795, while the 1,000-horsepower Baja Raptor R carries a starting price of $194,795, with both prices including the donor Ford F-150 Raptor.

Those figures place Shelby’s latest trucks among the most expensive performance pickups available today. Buyers are paying not only for significantly higher horsepower, but also for bespoke engineering, exclusive styling, upgraded off-road hardware, and the rarity that comes with Shelby’s limited-production approach.

With more than 1,000 horsepower available from its supercharged V8, the Baja Raptor R enters rare territory occupied by only a handful of extreme performance trucks. Shelby has built its reputation by taking already capable Fords to another level, and its latest creation demonstrates that the pursuit of bigger power and greater off-road capability remains as strong as ever.
