A Porsche 911 GT3 driver has become a bit of a viral sensation. Not just because he is only 21 years old, but because he ended up in the back of a police car in tears. Yet it was because he decided to speed in it and then asked if he could have his car back.

The story was shared by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office on their social media accounts, which also included bodycam footage of the arrest. The incident itself began just before 6:30 pm, with Sergeant Wallin noticing the blue Porsche sports car driving recklessly northbound on Interstate 5.

However, after beginning the pursuit, the officers had to call off the chase as the driver drove through downtown Everett at high speed. Two cars doing so would have endangered more lives. But as the car wasn’t discreet in its bright blue color, it was easy to track it down.

The police deputies, as well as drone operators, were able to keep track of the car, and it continued to drive recklessly. Officers were able to get ahead of the car and deployed spike strips to bring it to a halt.

The Arrest Saw the Drama Continue

Even after stopping the car, the drama for the police continued. Audio from the bodycam footage showed the Porsche driver crying as officers arrested him and read him his Miranda rights. Yet that wasn’t the end of his bad news. The police told the 21-year-old that the car would likely belong to the sheriff’s office after his arrest, leaving the young man distraught.

“Is there anything I can do to get my car back?” the driver can be heard asking. “Don’t run from the police,” the officer is heard saying, which was very wise advice.

At the time of writing, the sheriff’s office is pursuing legal seizure of the Porsche. That means the driver could lose his 911 GT3 for good, and it would be an incredibly expensive lesson for this young driver. A very firm lesson in how not to drive a car.

Anyone who owns a car like a Porsche 911 is going to be tempted to drive it as fast as possible. The police said, “On October 18, 2026, at approximately 6:21 p.m., Sergeant Wallin initiated a pursuit of a Porsche being driven recklessly by a 21-year-old male northbound on I-5, just south of SR-526.” “The pursuit was brief, and Sergeant Wallin made the decision to terminate it when the driver exited onto Broadway Avenue in downtown Everett and continued fleeing at excessive speeds.”

The Police Detailed Where the Porsche Was Stopped

“K9 Deputy Byrd and Deputy Duran eventually located the Porsche near Everett Mall Way and 7th Avenue SE. Another brief pursuit followed, ending when deputies successfully deployed spike strips near 7th Avenue SE and 112th Street SE,” said the police in a social media post. “After the vehicle was spiked, the 21-year-old driver stopped fleeing and surrendered without further incident. Thankfully, no injuries or vehicle damage were reported. Deputies are now pursuing the seizure of the suspect vehicle.”

The social media posts also showed police parked around the Porsche, thanks to drone footage. It shows multiple police cars were involved in the pursuit of the sports car and the arrest of the young man at the wheel. The force urged people to drive responsibly and said, “But not every reckless driving incident ends this safely.”
