Reality television star Corey Harrison is recovering after a devastating motorcycle accident that left him hospitalized for weeks and facing more than $100,000 in medical bills, prompting an emotional appeal for financial help from fans.
Harrison, widely known as “Big Hoss” from the long running History Channel series Pawn Stars, was involved in the serious crash while riding a motorcycle in Tulum, Mexico earlier this year.
It was just a leisure ride that unfortunately turned into a life-threatening ordeal that would require multiple surgeries and an extended stay in hospital.
11 Broken Ribs, a Punctured Lung, and a Desperate Decision
According to details shared by friends and family, the accident left the 42-year-old with severe injuries including 11 broken ribs, a punctured lung, internal bleeding, and a concussion.

The impact of the crash was so violent that Harrison required immediate medical attention and was rushed to a hospital in Playa del Carmen.
Doctors admitted him for emergency treatment where he spent nearly two weeks recovering from the initial trauma. However, the financial burden of his medical care soon became overwhelming.
With bills rising rapidly, Harrison reportedly made the difficult decision to leave the hospital against medical advice after about 14 days because he could no longer afford to remain there.
But the situation quickly took another dangerous turn.
A Rib Shifts, Three Liters of Blood, and Emergency Surgery
Not long after returning home, Harrison began experiencing worsening pain and breathing complications.

Concerned about his condition, friends stepped in and drove him more than four hours across Mexico to another hospital in Mérida, where doctors discovered a far more serious internal problem.
Medical staff found that one of Harrison’s fractured ribs had shifted and was pressing dangerously into his lung. The discovery led to urgent surgical intervention. Surgeons performed three procedures to stabilize his injuries and repair the damage caused by the crash.
One of the most critical procedures involved draining nearly three liters of blood from Harrison’s chest cavity. Doctors were able to relieve the pressure on his lungs and prevent what could have become a fatal complication.
Following the surgeries, Harrison remained hospitalized for another 18 days as doctors monitored his recovery and managed the lingering effects of the trauma. The lengthy treatment and specialized care ultimately pushed his medical expenses past the $100,000 mark.
A GoFundMe Plea and a Long Road to Recovery
Faced with the enormous financial strain, friends of the television personality launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the mounting costs of treatment, medications, and travel expenses related to his recovery. The fundraiser explains that Harrison had already exhausted much of his personal savings in an effort to pay for the life-saving procedures.
Harrison’s father, Rick Harrison, has reportedly stepped in to assist with some of the expenses. Even so, the family acknowledged that the scale of the bills has been difficult to manage.
Despite the financial challenges, Harrison is said to be focused on healing and gradually rebuilding his strength after the traumatic experience. Friends close to the reality star say he remains grateful to have survived an accident that easily could have ended much differently.
A Television Icon’s Fight for Recovery
Harrison’s ordeal resonated with many fans who have followed the star’s life on television for more than a decade. As one of the central figures on Pawn Stars, he became known for his blunt negotiating style and deep knowledge of collectibles inside the famous Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas.
For now, the priority is recovery. While reports confirm he suffered severe injuries the exact circumstances of the crash—such as speed, collision details, or whether another vehicle was involved—have not been publicly disclosed. A friend who rode with him that day has spoken out.
However, multiple outlets confirm Corey was riding a Harley-Davidson at the time of the accident. No further specifics (such as the exact Harley model) have been reported.
The only confirmed details are that Harrison was riding a Harley-Davidson in Tulum when he suffered a devastating accident, leading to severe injuries and major medical expenses.
It is yet unclear when Harrison will fully return to normal activities. The fundraiser remains active as supporters continue to rally behind the reality star during what has become one of the most challenging chapters of his life.
