A Kentucky woman found sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle in a field had more than an unusual parking spot for deputies to investigate. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office says deputies found suspected crack cocaine inside a lip balm container before another discovery was made after she arrived at the jail.
Deputies were called to Pembroke Fairview Road at approximately 6:24 p.m. on October 2 to check on a vehicle sitting in a field. Inside, they found 63-year-old Hopkinsville resident Genise Guynn-Day asleep in the driver’s seat.
According to the sheriff’s office, Guynn-Day admitted she had consumed wine earlier that day and showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. The department did not provide additional information about how the vehicle ended up in the field or whether deputies believed she had driven it there while impaired.
The encounter took another turn when deputies say they discovered two white rocks believed to be crack cocaine. Rather than being loose inside the vehicle, the suspected drugs were found inside a lip balm container.

Guynn-Day was arrested following the investigation and charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place. She was also charged with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The sheriff’s office did not specify what item resulted in the drug paraphernalia charge or provide the weight of the suspected cocaine. Its announcement also does not state that Guynn-Day was charged with DUI.
After her arrest, Guynn-Day was taken to jail, but deputies say the initial discovery wasn’t the last of the suspected drugs. The sheriff’s office said more suspected crack cocaine was found on her while she was at the jail.
Search Turns up No Additional Police Records
The sheriff’s office did not state how much additional suspected crack cocaine was discovered at the jail or where on Guynn-Day it was found. Its announcement also does not list an additional charge resulting from that discovery.
Guessing Headlights attempted to locate additional police records associated with Guynn-Day’s name but was unable to find any matching information through the records searched. As a result, no additional details about the circumstances surrounding her arrest or the accusations were available through that search.
The unsuccessful records search should not be interpreted as establishing that no other records involving Guynn-Day exist. For this incident, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office announced three charges: alcohol intoxication in a public place, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
