Two suspects broke into a Mercedes repair shop in Commerce City, Colorado, before one drove a stolen vehicle straight through the closed garage door, leaving the business with extensive damage.
The break-in happened at 4:17 a.m. on October 1, 2026, at S.S.S. Mercedes Repairs, a specialty repair shop along Highway 2. Surveillance footage captured the suspects arriving in an older blue Honda CR-V before forcing their way inside.
One suspect then got behind the wheel of a 2003 silver Mercedes wagon and sped through the closed garage door, sending wooden panels flying as the vehicle escaped the building.
Police later found the heavily damaged Mercedes a few blocks from the shop, but the suspects were nowhere to be found.

FOX31 Denver reported that the suspects broke a window to enter the business. Gallicchio told Telemundo Denver they used an item from their Honda to force entry before breaking open a box containing vehicle keys.
Police have not disclosed whether they stole anything else during the burglary.
Owner Faces Repairs
As the burglary unfolded, shop owner Broy Gallicchio received a security alert and drove to the property. When he arrived, he found the garage door destroyed, tracks damaged, glass shattered, and debris scattered throughout the entrance.
Gallicchio estimated the damage to his shop at more than $8,000, leaving him with a costly repair bill. Commerce City police highlighted the financial strain of replacing the garage door, particularly for a small business.
The burglary comes amid broader concerns about commercial break-ins in Commerce City. Police recorded 23 commercial burglaries in August, a 77% increase from July, according to Telemundo Denver.
Other business owners have also reported problems. Andrés Rodríguez of The Taco Shop told Telemundo Denver that his establishment had been affected twice. Some merchants have responded to security concerns by investing in cameras and alarm systems.
Police Seek Suspects
On October 16, Commerce City police released the surveillance footage on Facebook, hoping someone would recognize the suspects. The department said it wanted to hold those responsible for targeting a small business accountable.
