A woman has taken to TikTok to voice her huge displeasure at pickup trucks after she said that her Kia was crushed beyond recognition by a Ram pickup truck. TikToker Grace Roberts (@not.yoursavinggrace) was incredibly upset in the video she posted on her account.
The video paints a dramatic picture, as we see Roberts holding an ice pack to her head on the side of the road in Atlanta in the aftermath of the accident. She certainly didn’t mince her words in a video that, at the time of writing, has been viewed over 2.7 million times.
“I hope the sun explodes this big truck just rammed into me while I was at a stop,” she said in the text overlay in the video. It is when we see the damage done to the Kia that we begin to understand why Roberts was so upset and frustrated.
In fact, while the Ram looks to have survived the accident with little damage, the same can’t be said for her Kia. The car has sustained extensive damage, and it would be hard for anyone to work out what car it was before the accident.
How Much Damage Did the Ram Do to the Kia?

While a smaller vehicle like the Kia would always suffer more than a Ram pickup truck, you probably didn’t expect it to suffer this much more. In Robert’s video, we can see the rear glass has been totally shattered, and the body panels on her car have been folded inwards. There is a huge amount of debris all around her car.
It makes it quite tricky to work out where the passenger compartment of her car actually began. Yet when the camera pans to the Ram truck, things are nowhere near as bad. The truck has taken little damage compared to the Kia, with most of it confined to the bumper area and quite low down on the front end.
The images don’t give us the entire picture surrounding the crash. For example, we don’t know the full force of the impact, how fast each vehicle was going, and how it happened. But the huge amount of damage done to the Kia suggests it was hit with some force.
Roberts said she was stationary when the truck struck the back of her vehicle, and the damage to her vehicle certainly supports that. Comments on the video directed a lot of sympathy towards the Kia driver.
The Big Truck Drew Plenty of Criticism
Unsurprisingly, there was a lot of criticism towards the huge Ram pickup truck in the video too. Commentators asked whether heavy-duty pickups should be treated differently from ordinary vehicles.
“Big [expletive] trucks need a separate license. Normal driver’s test doesn’t cut it,” one said. For some of the commenters, it was a personal debate, as one recounted a serious crash involving their own family, which also happened to involve a massive pickup truck, this time a Ford F-250 Super Duty.“My parents’ car was demolished by a guy who just casually drove an F-250 Super Duty… they are permanently disabled because of him,” the commenter said.
The TikTok video showed just how badly smaller vehicles can suffer when they are involved in a collision with something much bigger. It is a simple matter of physics, with the heavier Ram moving further forward and effectively pushing the Kia in front of it backward into its path. The stark contrast in how each vehicle emerged from the accident shows that drivers of smaller vehicles are right to be frustrated by larger pickup trucks.
