A Florida man has taken to TikTok to discuss how he noticed something strange with his tinted windows just an hour after he had the work done. In fact, this man went so far as to say the tinting company had done something horribly wrong.
TikTok user and online gaming enthusiast Drippy (@drippy_zone) posted the video on his account, showing the windows on his red Mazda sedan. At first, he didn’t notice anything wrong with the car when he went to pick it up from the tinting company, and he thought they’d done a great job.
“Guy did a great job just by looking at it, right, okay,” Drippy said in the TikTok video. However, it was when he took a closer look at the work that had been done that he noticed there was an issue. And that was where the tint had been applied.
Normally, when tinting is done to windows, it is the inside of the windows that gets tinted. Nobody wants the outside tinted, as it could be taken right off. Unfortunately for Drippy, the tinting company had actually tinted the outside of the windows, and not the inside.
Drippy Was Shocked at What the Tinting Was Like

Upon closer inspection of the car, Drippy could see that the tint had been applied to the exterior of the windows. He showed this in his video by grabbing a flap on the edge of the glass. It meant he could just pull the tint right off the glass, and it was the same on all the other windows on his red Mazda sedan.
“Then you get closer, you start realizing tints should be on the inside,” he said. “Or should it be on the outside? I don’t know; can you guys tell me? Because I’m a little confused,” he added.
That left the TikTok user wondering how long the tint would last. “I literally got this car tinted maybe an hour ago. It took him five hours,” he said. “Yeah, even the back glass. It’s all on the outside. Everything’s on the outside.”
Drippy even managed to remove an entire portion of tint from the car, and it crumpled in his hands. TikTok users who watched the video were shocked at what they were watching.
“This has to be a joke,” said one of them, unwilling to believe it was legit. “Hope you paid with your debit card so you can dispute that charge,” said another, believing that Drippy had effectively been scammed. Others also discussed where the window tint should have gone.
Should the Windows Have Been Tinted on the Inside?

The tint should always have been placed on the inside of the car windows. “That needs to be on the inside, and you need to get your money back,” said one TikTok user.
Detail Solutions has said tint should be applied on the inside because it protects it from road debris, weather, and grime, and prevents damage.
The International Window Film Association has also said tints gon on the inside. “Window film installation on a car involves applying a thin, transparent film to the interior side of the vehicle’s windows,” they said. So Drippy was right to be annoyed by what had happened to his car.
