Dashcam footage can provide some of the most shocking automotive moments imaginable. The r/dashcams SubReddit is one of the best places to find these moments, and one user has posted a video that really does have to be seen to be believed.
User MaleficentExample960 has posted a video simply titled “It’s a Jeep thing?” and it is an onboard video of the user riding a motorcycle down a regular road. But it is what happens when a Jeep Gladiator pickup truck appears further down the road that makes this such a shocking video.
The Jeep in question suddenly pulls out in front of the user and forces them to slam on the brakes in order not to hit it. What makes the video worse is that after pulling out in front of the motorcyclist, the Jeep suddenly stops, and it almost leads to quite a brutal collision.
It is after this near collision that the driver of the Jeep climbs out of his pickup truck, and he begins to confront the motorcycle driver. The video has over 15,000 upvotes on Reddit and 2,900 comments at the time of writing, highlighting how viral it has become.
What Actually Happened in the Dashcam Video?
The opening couple of seconds of the video seem normal. The bike is just running down the road as you’d expect, with another car alongside it. But in the distance, a Jeep pickup truck is turning from the road on the other side into the path of the two oncoming vehicles. The motorcyclist tries to brake, but the Jeep basically stops in front of him, and he nearly runs into the pickup truck.
Cue a shout of “what the [expletive]” from the rider of the motorcycle. He does just clip the Jeep as he comes to a stop and has to slam his hand against the vehicle to steady himself. It’s clear that the truck driver pulled out at an inappropriate time, but then he decided to get out of his vehicle and confront the rider whose dashcam footage we are watching. The driver of the Jeep clearly didn’t think they were in the wrong.
The argument doesn’t make for a pretty sight. The truck driver screamed that the bike rider should look where he is going, to which the biker simply said, “You were in the middle of the road,” which was accurate. “It’s a U-turn!” screamed the truck driver, to which our dashcam biker said that he should have waited his turn, rather than just pulling out in front of other traffic.
Yet the truck driver seemed more annoyed at his truck being tapped than at having nearly taken out the biker.
What Did Reddit Users Say About the Incident?

Comments towards the truck driver were not very supportive at all. In fact, he seemed to have no sympathy, and all of that was sent to the biker. “As soon as you see a gladiator, give them a wide space. They’ve already committed to a 72-month bad decision,” said one of the Reddit users. “I make a U-turn now. Good luck, everybody!” said another one.
One user said the truck driver could have de-escalated the situation very quickly. “Sorry, my bad! Thought I could make it! Would have made the situation so much nicer for everybody,” said this user,” they said. Sadly, that isn’t what happened.
The Gladiator driver clearly had no intention of admitting that he was in the wrong. Sadly for him, it was captured on camera and posted on Reddit for everyone to see.
