The Goodwood Festival of Speed is often the place where many manufacturers reveal their latest supercars and hypercars. This year, a whole plethora has been revealed, with Chinese company Denza one of those to have taken the covers off a new model, the Denza Z.
Like with many Chinese cars, it uses electric power as its propulsion, and it’s easily one of the most extreme cars to come out of Goodwood this year. It might not have quite the same power levels as the Koenigsegg Gemera or Hennessey Venom F5, but this car still packs a punch.
Denza has revealed the production spec model at the British automotive festival, and it is actually making its European debut at the 2026 Festival of Speed. Denza is actually another brand owned by BYD, and the company itself was founded back in 2010.
The Chinese car company has actually marketed the car as a rival to the Porsche 911, even though its main rival is combustion-powered. What Porsche and others may not have expected is for this monster hypercar to pump out over 1,500hp. This is more like a rival to a Bugatti than to a Porsche.
The Denza Z Has a Huge Amount of Power

Under the hood of the Denza Z are three electric motors. One is located at the front, and two are located at the rear. It sits on what the company calls the e3 (e-cube) Sports Car Platform. Frankly, the power output is ludicrous, as it can produce 1,582hp and 1,240Nm of torque, roughly 914lb-ft. That is enough to launch the Denza Z from 0- 62 mph in just 1.96 seconds.
The EV produces a staggering 2,337lbs of downforce at a speed of 217mph. Amazingly, it even features a drag-reduction system (DRS) that can cut the drag the car produces by 40 percent. Don’t think this is just a show pony, however, that can only get you to the shops and back. Beneath the skin, the car has a 76kWh battery pack with enough range for 254 miles. For many people, that is the perfect amount of mileage.

Thanks to the 1,500kW approach Denza took to the hardware, the car can charge from 10 to 70 percent in just five minutes. 10 to 97 percent will take just nine minutes, so you won’t be sitting waiting for too long at a charging station to get back on the move. Denza has launched the car at Goodwood as it anticipates soon being able to take orders for the car, meaning this is not just a one-off concept car.
This Is a Very Practical Approach to the Hypercar Segment

If that wasn’t enough, Denza has also revealed that the Z is a four-seater. Yes, you read that right. The Denza Z has enough seating for four people, making it one of the more practical performance cars on the market. The interior does look phenomenal, with a clean dashboard and center console, and a large infotainment system. It will be touchscreen, however, something that many people have become frustrated by.
If all that wasn’t enough, then the Chinese company has promised three body styles for the car. These are Coupe, Spider, and Racing. But there will also be a fourth version, the Special Edition, which is solely to go and pursue lap records around the Nurburgring, which Denza is hoping will happen later on in 2026. Prices will start at roughly $200,000 for the electric hypercar.
