Two British soldiers have been arrested following an incident involving a tank at Swinton Barracks in Wiltshire.
The British Army confirmed that the Royal Military Police are investigating the incident, which took place at Perham Down, part of Tidworth Garrison, during the early hours of 24 July.
BBC News reported that footage circulating online appeared to show an armored vehicle driving through the barracks before colliding with several parked cars. After driving down the road, the tank was parked in a parking bay.
The Army has not released further details about the incident while the investigation remains ongoing.
Reports Describe Damage To Parked Vehicles
According to The Sun, the vehicle involved was a Bulldog armored personnel carrier weighing around 15 tonnes. The newspaper reported that several privately owned vehicles, including a silver MG ZS electric SUV and a modified Vauxhall van, were damaged during the incident.
The Sun also reported that no one was injured and that the Bulldog appeared to be undamaged before it was later returned to a designated parking area within the barracks. These details have not been confirmed publicly by the British Army.
