Alpine has unveiled the striking A310 Vision concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, bringing one of its most distinctive sports cars into the modern era. With its dramatic proportions, sculpted bodywork, and unusual pop-down headlights, this French creation looks like something straight out of a science-fiction movie.
The concept pays tribute to the original Alpine A310, which debuted in 1971 as a larger alternative to the legendary A110. This year marks the four-cylinder A310’s 55th anniversary and the V6 version’s 50th.
Rather than simply recreating the original, Alpine’s designers have combined its unmistakable 1970s silhouette with futuristic aerodynamic details. The result is a low-slung sports car that manages to look both familiar and completely new.
Unfortunately, Alpine describes the A310 Vision as an independent design study rather than a preview of a confirmed production model. Nevertheless, it demonstrates what the brand’s next-generation sports car architecture could make possible.
Retro Styling With A Futuristic Twist

Measuring 4.55 meters (179 inches) long, 2.03 meters (80 inches) wide at the rear, and just 1.18 meters (46 inches) tall, the A310 Vision has exceptionally dramatic proportions. Its silver aluminum bodywork contrasts with a black lower section inspired by Formula 1 aerodynamics.
The standout feature is undoubtedly its pop-down headlights, which are revealed when the car starts. Rather than using traditional pop-up units, Alpine has integrated the lights into the front bodywork to create an unusual pop-down effect.
Other highlights include triangular wheels inspired by the original A310, a sculpted hood with an S-duct, and a distinctive split rear wing. Blade-shaped taillights also contribute to the car’s aerodynamic design.
Built Around Alpine’s Next-Generation Platform

The A310 Vision showcases the carmaker’s new Alpine Performance Platform, or APP, developed to accommodate future sports cars with different proportions and configurations. The architecture is also intended for the next-generation A110.
Although the platform supports electric powertrains, Alpine hasn’t announced a specific motor, battery, or performance specification for this concept. The company’s focus is firmly on styling rather than technical figures.
A Minimalist Interior With A Retro Touch

The concept’s semi-transparent cabin offers a glimpse of an interior that looks nearly as futuristic as its exterior. Sculpted seats, contrasting colors, and physical controls inspired by vintage Hi-Fi equipment give it a distinctive character.
Alpine hasn’t provided extensive interior specifications, reinforcing the A310 Vision’s role as a design exploration. Its cabin is intended primarily to complement the exterior rather than demonstrate a production-ready layout.
The A310 Vision is a one-off concept, with no confirmed plans for production. However, its pop-down headlights, dramatic proportions, and sculpted bodywork offer plenty of design ideas that we’d love to see carried over to future Alpine models.
