Dashcam footage has shown what can happen if you are a bit rude to other road users and don’t let them into the road in front of you. The footage was shared on the Reddit SubReddit r/dashcams, showing a Chevrolet Corvette driver who didn’t let an SUV through.

At the time of writing, the video had amassed over 3,000 upvotes and 1,400 comments. The incident doesn’t sound like much at first, nor does it look like much, but that quickly changes as the Corvette pulls up to some traffic lights on red.

In the footage, there is an SUV trying to pull out of a gas station. The lights just after the gas station are red, so the driver of the SUV is waiting for the right moment to pull out safely. The Corvette pulls alongside, but refuses to let the SUV out and instead blocks the exit.

That is very much the height of bad manners. The last thing anyone expects is to be blocked in when trying to exit. What made the situation worse, however, was that the SUV hit the Corvette. And the driver of the American sports car didn’t like that.

The SUV Was Blocked in by the Corvette

As the cars approach the red lights, the SUV is just about to pull into the road from the gas station. The Chevrolet Corvette is coming up next to it, and most of us would probably let the SUV filter in, and then we can all head off when the lights are green. Yet despite it being obvious that the SUV wants to pull out, the Corvette just won’t let it.

Instead, it pulls right in front of the SUV as it tries to poke its nose into the road. It just completely blocks in the red car, despite the fact that it was obvious what the driver was trying to do. In fact, the Corvette moved as close to the car ahead of it as possible to keep the SUV blocked off. We can then see that car move and then nudge the Corvette, with that driver understandably annoyed at not being allowed to join the road.

It is then that the Corvette driver got out of his car to try and confront the SUV’s driver. The driver, who actually looks a bit like Hulk Hogan from a distance, walks over to the front of the SUV, just as the lights begin to go green. He tried to block off the red car, but the SUV just backed up and then drove off, and it was able to make its escape while the Corvette driver had to get back into his car.

Reddit Users Were Slightly Perplexed by the Confrontation

Out of all the confrontations shown on the SubReddit, it’s certainly one of the tamer ones. Many users were a bit perplexed by the incident, and some took the Corvette driver’s side while others sided with the driver of the SUV. “The guy who gets out of the Vette is so stereotypical, just amazing,” said one of the commentators. “Avoidable but still 100% on the SUV. They broke at least three laws,” said another, siding with the Corvette driver.

There is nothing to say that the Corvette driver had to let the SUV in. Nor did the SUV driver have to force his way onto the road. But you could argue it would have just been good manners to let the SUV join the road, rather than annoy its driver and block it in. Equally, nudging the Corvette was an overreaction, and if it was intentional, it shows a loss of temper.
