A New York man was released after an arrest, but deputies later came looking for him again. The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office said 30-year-old Sean M. Ribble was first arrested after deputies responded to a stolen property complaint in Big Flats on September 26.
Soon after he was released, a neighboring business called about catalytic converters that had been cut off its vehicles. Deputies said the theft happened around the same time as the first incident.
The Road Patrol Division passed the new information along to investigators. They said they verified parts and other information connected to the stolen catalytic converters.
Deputies eventually found Ribble in Elmira and took him back into custody. This time, they charged him with three felonies and sent him to the Chemung County Jail.
